Very clean and fresh room. Very nice breakfast with a lot to chose from. Nice lobby/bar/breakfast area,
Great Place. Comfy room and bed. Perfect location!
very new, very clean.
Good location directly at the main central station in Munich. Friendly staff at the reception. Nice design of the lobby area. When it comes to the rooms, I think they are a bit too poorly equipped. No telephone, no mini fridge, no kettle to make tea or coffee, no net-curtains, no place to hang wet towels after showering and the room service just folds the wet towels and hangs them where there is a little space, and the price of EUR 200 per night does not match with what you get, and the location cannot justify it, as there are hotels in the vicinity that have more to offer in terms of room size and amenities in the room, such as the ALOFT Hotel...so, I don't think I will stay at the Motel One Hauptbahnhof in Munich again...
Very good, clean rooms and cozy hotel. Perfect location. Breakfast selection is really bad for a very high price.
Overall a good experience. A couple of bits of feedback, appreciating this is a new venue: 1. My room beside the television there were a couple of holes (looks like the last fix hasn't been performed). 2. Lighting control is messy as there is only a switch on one side of the bed ! 3. Front desk is a little too small. More staff are needed at busy times as there is a wait (and the clientele I witnessed seems to be the people who have lots of discussion). Overall a good experience and many thanks.
The check-in took a bit long, but anything else was flawless. I personally don‘t have a problem with it, but visually impaired people may have problems in the bathroom with all the black surfaces around the sink.
Clean, cheap and friendly
Everything was perfect but I’d have appreciate frigobar and maybe a toilet kit (above all slippers). Reception (Mariarosa) was great
Excellent location for city centre and the haupbahnhof. Friendly reception staff. A very clean room and the bathroom was spotless. Cosy bar area. I didn't have breakfast, due to a very early departure. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Munich-Hauptbahnhof
The design hotel Munich-Hauptbahnhof in the centre of the city
Welcome to Munich, the capital of Bavaria and probably the most beautiful city in the state. And you can hardly be more central than in our new city hotel, Motel One Munich-Hauptbahnhof. And as the name suggests, it’s just a stone’s throw away from the train station. From here, it is only a short walk to Karlsplatz (also known as Stachus, the beginning of the pedestrian zone), as well as to Marienplatz, Theatinerstrasse and Odeonsplatz.
Are you visiting Munich for Oktoberfest? Then it’s best to book your accommodation at our hotel at the main station straight away, as the festival tent area on the Theresienwiese is also within walking distance. If you want to explore places that are a little too far away to walk to or are not in the city centre, there are buses, trams, underground and local trains right on your doorstep. Its location isn’t just ideal for a city trip – it makes your arrival to the city so much easier. From Munich Airport, it takes just under 45 minutes by local train (S-Bahn), and getting there by ICE or regional train is super easy.
But the central location isn’t just an advantage for tourists and concertgoers – business travellers will also appreciate the benefits of this affordable design hotel at the central station. Thanks to its excellent transport connections, meeting and office locations can be reached quickly. At the same time, green spaces such as the English Garden, the Olympic Park and the Isarauen (recreational areas on the banks of the Isar) invite you to relax after a stressful day at work.
Sophisticated design at the Hotel Munich-Hauptbahnhof: between King Ludwig II and Modernism
Speaking of green spaces, the design of this hotel is centred around all things green. An allusion to the legendary winter garden of King Ludwig II, mixed with hints of the creative pop-up gardens of the city of Munich, creates a unique ambience in the hotel. For a bit of background, let’s dive briefly into the city’s history. Beginning in 1867, King Ludwig II had a private conservatory built onto his residence that was to embody a kind of tropical paradise. In addition to numerous plant species, an artificial lake and swans were also to be found in the large grounds.
And this unique magical world on the roof of his residence is reflected not only in the many plants in our hotel, but also in the floral patterns of the chairs and armchairs. The lamps that have been set up in the lobby, created with great attention to detail, are reminiscent of large leaves and plants, creating a cosy atmosphere. Another highlight of the hotel is the bar: here you can discover an interpretation of a garden pavilion, as well as a portrait of King Ludwig II.
The stylishly designed hotel offers a relaxing oasis amid the hustle and bustle of Munich’s central station. The centre of our lobby is also intended to resemble a pop-up garden – a welcoming space that invites you to stay a while, even though the lively city is right in front of the large entrance door.
You’ll find out just how lively when you explore Munich, as there is so much to discover. The best way to plan your stay in the centre of Munich is by making use of our free Wi-Fi at breakfast, while enjoying our selection of organic products and delicious coffee or tea. This means there’s little chance of missing out on the most important sights. Thanks to the hotel’s excellent location in the centre of Munich close to the central station, you can easily explore art, culture, cafés and museums. It also means that in the evening, you’re never far away from a bar or the Munich night-life. For culinary highlights, you also don’t have to walk far to find what you’re looking for. With its ideal location close to the city centre, there’s something for everyone.
And if you just want to go back to the hotel after a long shopping spree or a busy work day full of meetings, you can enjoy a last nightcap at our hotel bar. Then it’s up to your room – with anti-allergy pillows and duvets available on request – for a restful night’s sleep. We look forward to welcoming you to our design hotel in Munich!
