6 DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS AT THE MOTEL ONE WÜRZBURG

Wine, Main and magnificent design

Our Motel One Würzburg has snapped up a really good spot in the Franconian wine region: between the picturesque Old Main Bridge and the Würzburg Residence with its world-famous ceiling fresco by Tiepolo.

The interior of the hotel is inspired by its famous neighbour, so don’t be surprised if the chandeliers are reminiscent of palaces and the arches remind you of bridge pillars. But just drop by to see it for yourself. You’re sure to discover a fabulous, fresco-inspired corner for a selfie!

One world – our creation

When you enter the lobby, you will immediately notice these words at reception. They are a link to the symbolism of the ceiling fresco in the Würzburg Residence, which depicts the peaceful coexistence of the four continents of the time under the heaven of the gods. The message is clear: every peace-loving person is welcome at Motel One!

THE NEW FACE OF ART

When you look to the right, three striking canvases are not to be overlooked. These works follow a similar theme to the fresco in the 18th-century Residence, but interpret it in a refreshingly new way. Artist Jaroslav Drazil depicts the continents of Asia, Africa and America and encourages reflection by playing with stereotypes.

MIRROR, MIRROR...

…on the wall. The impressive antique mirror in the lounge will almost make you think you’re in a fairy tale – or in the Mirror Cabinet of the Residence. The shimmering gold reflections and the sumptuous Clorophilla chairs by Fratelli Boffi also evoke the splendour of their inspiration.

FLOURISHING IMAGINATION

Where is the best place to work? In an inspiring environment, of course. Ideas quite literally take root in the separate meeting room, thanks to Arte International’s inspiring orangery wallpaper. So, let’s get to work!

POUR THE WINE

Work done, meetings ticked off, sightseeing finished? Then let’s head to the bar! Incidentally, the arched design of the rear wall of the bar is inspired by the architecture of the Old Main Bridge – a popular meeting point in the city. Our bar is also the ideal place to get together with friends and enjoy a few drinks. Here, in the heart of the Franconian wine-growing region, perhaps a glass of Bocksbeutel would do the trick?

SWEET DREAMS

To round off the day, there’s only one thing left to do: help yourself to a portion of restful sleep in your own residence. Art by Jaroslav Drazil continues in the rooms and radiates a special sense of calm with its soft colours. Green is the shade of harmony – so there’s nothing standing in the way of a pleasant night.
