An Alpine good time
Welcome to Motel One Salzburg-Süd, our hotel on Alpenstraße (‘Alp Street’) with a wonderful view of – you guessed it – the Alps! As you step foot in our affordable design hotel, you’ll turn your back on the mountains behind you, but worry not! More mountains will rise before your eyes. That's because the wall behind our bar and reception area is crafted from four layered plates of glass, depicting three of the Salzburg region’s famous mountains: the Ochsenkopf, the Drei Zinthörner and the Kitzsteinhorn. The bar itself is adorned in a mosaic of decorative wooden moulding and carvings. As you can see, our design in Motel One Salzburg-Süd has a masterfully hand-crafted flair. In the lounge, you’ll find cosy seating nooks covered in fabrics that take inspiration from traditional attire known as Trachten. The breakfast area delivers the final touch, with finely detailed light fixtures and black and white photographs by Edward Groeger – authentic portraits of people and daily life in the Salzburg region. You’ll also find Groeger's photographs featured prominently in your room, where they dazzle from their perch above the green, textured headboard. And as you know, our comfortable box spring beds are just one of our many traditions. You can also count on a hearty breakfast buffet, free WiFi, and friendly staff. With Motel One Salzburg-Süd, you’ve found the ideal place to stay – and to feel at home – during your Salzburg holiday.
Getting here is easy, too: from the central railway station, a simple bus connection will take you to our design hotel. Our location in the south of Salzburg makes our hotel the perfect starting point for your visit to the spectacular Hellbrunn Palace and surrounding park. The palace grounds are a masterpiece of garden architecture, and the Late Renaissance trick fountains are world famous. The hotel's proximity to public transit also makes it a breeze to get to Salzburg’s Old Town, located in the heart of the city. Likewise, the city’s top attractions are a stone’s throw from the hotel: Mozart’s birthplace, Mirabell Palace, Hohensalzburg Fortress, and Salzburg Cathedral are all well within your reach. Just in case you are still wondering, ‘What's worth seeing and doing in the Salzburg region?’, we have the answer. Just outside of Austria's fourth-largest city, alluring destinations and activities abound. Especially in summer, the area’s various lakes are the ideal place to spend the day on the beach or hop aboard a sailing boat. To get a taste for all that Salzburg has to offer, be sure to put Salzburger Nockerl – Salzburg's famous soufflé-like pastry – on your travel menu. Don’t miss a chance to stop by one of the many local restaurants, cafés or Gasthöfe.
