Good location however it took three times to convince staff member the fan would not work and we could not open windows. Moved to another room smaller however fan worked. Another staff member explained child lock on window. Otherwise the staff very helpful and bed very comfortable and room quiet.
This was the second time we stayed in this hotel. It is very well located and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to pay for a hotel breakfast, the food and beverage choices are very good. There were a few negatives. Our room was so stuffy and hot. The fan helped slightly but was not adequate. Opening the window was out of the question as the noise from the street was too loud. The windows open very wide and if I had small children this would be a major safety concern. Finally, the TV only having Chromecast makes it unusable for people who cannot use modern technology, like my elderly mother who accompanied us on our trip. This is not a very inclusive decision at all!
I liked most everything but not the bathroom in my room there was no privacy
Over all we had a good experience. The staff were mostly nice and friendly. The room was compact and clean. The only thing that we didn’t like was the bathroom door which couldn’t be closed.
This is an elegant hotel located in an excellent part of town. On top of our positive experiences in general, the hotel staff kindly also treated us to a lovely breakfast due to a miscommunication that inconvenienced us. We appreciated the gesture very much!
Federico, the Bar Keeper was super friendly to us and Served Great bavarages! Thanks!
We had a great stay! The staff were incredibly welcoming, everything was clean, and the location was perfect. The breakfast was also a nice bonus—tasty and convenient. Highly recommend!
Very good room and service.
Frederico in the bar was especially helpful and charming. But all the staff were lovely and a great team. Thank you
Good points: - Good, central location - Friendly service - Bike rental convenience - Bar had the usual good offerings found at a Motel One. - Breakfast excellent as at all Motel Ones. - Beer on tap I haven't seen at a Motel One before. Huge improvement. - The room decor was much better than in a normal Motel One. Probably because it was a restored hotel rather than new, cheaper construction. - Bed was extremely comfortable. Bad points: - Street noise. I didn't mind no air conditioning. The ceiling fan was more than enough. But that means keeping the windows open, and that in turn means street noise. - There was no privacy at all with the window facing multiple floors of other windows. So if you wanted to relax in the room without people seeing you, you had to draw the curtains, which made it very dark. - I missed the fish in the aquarium (or in winter, a fire) that usually greet you at a Motel One on the TV. I don't watch much TV in a hotel, but some kind of Chromecast set up I had zero interest in setting up. Yet another tech hassle. - I changed my dates and ended up being charged a higher rate for ALL the dates. I felt this was a little cheap on Motel One's part. I didn't bother to complain about it as I didn't want to waste time, but the rate should have been kept the same. - Bar area was a little small. - Price was very expensive, even for Copenhagen.
My biggest gripe was the front desk manger, (he wore a sport coat), I addressed my issues with the room being unbearably hot, didn’t provide much assistance. Your staff should provide information on how to offload your luggage due to no parking in front of the hotel. WiFi did not work in the room. You have great staff and housekeeping in general.
Staff were very friedly. The room was clean. I liked that there were scrambled eggs and bacon available at the breakfast buffet. It would have been nice if there was also a tissue box in the bathroom. The Wi-Fi did not really work in my room. Otherwise it was an excellent stay... maybe a bit expensive but I think that the price is adequate for Copenhagen.
Very nice cosy comfortable hotel But 1 thing is missing: the fish screensaver on tv screen And some tv channels Thank you Sorina very kind And the girls at breakfast very kind and smiling
Pleasant stay right in the center of Copenhagen, very nice staff , clean room than had everything we needed. Thank you
Very nice comfortable hotel but please some TV channels needed at least local channels. And the MotelOne Fish TV screen is a must! Thank you Sorina she was very kind.
The front staff was nice, but they didn’t let me in my room until 30 minutes after check-in was supposed to happen, so I was sitting and waiting. There’s also no AC, so I was sweating in there - it was cooler in the hallway. The room was clean, and the staff was nice tho, so it was fine. Good location too
Beautiful room, good beds, a little soft for me :-)
Excellent location. A M A Z I N G Staff! All of them. Missing air condition is a big minus, especially with hot weather. The fan is not enough! Insect nets can be a plus if you need to keep your window open. :-)
Top location close to the Copenhavn Tivoli. Unfortunately small room hot at higher temperature outside - air conditioning not sufficient but leaving windows open not a real option.
Great hotel. I was given a room on the 5th floor. This was great because it had air conditioning and less proximity to noise. I would come totally come back here again and would even recommend to fellow travelers. Staff was excellent and attentive and breakfast was delicious and had lots of variety. Thanks so much for all that motel one did to make my first time in Copenhagen great!
The location was excellent, right near Tivoli and about a 5 min walk from the metro. Lots of things to do nearby. The staff were fantastic, the hotel was clean and modern. I would stay here again. Special mention to Fredrico the bartender, fantastic service and a really friendly guy - made the experience better. The only improvement we could suggest would have been the bed, it was comfortable, but the mattress slid around on the bedframe a bit during the night.
We had a wonderful time at your hotel this summer. The room, reception and bar area were very nice. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. We loved the location and would stay there again if we visit Copenhagen again.
Definitely will be staying here again, perfect location for tourist attractions, shopping dining etc
Every aspect of our stay was wonderful! Easy check-in, very friendly staff. The location was perfect for us, easy walk to nearest subway stop. There were lots of bars and restaurants right near the hotel, and Tivoli is a block or two away. The included breakfast was amazing--such a great variety of foods, from fresh fruit salad, to eggs and bacon, breads, pastries, cold cuts, cereals, yogurt--you name it! It was our favorite breakfast on our trip. The room was sparkling clean, the bed was comfy and the linens were soft. Can't say enough good things about Motel One Copenhagen!
Staff great - comfortable- great location
Rooms and bed are very small
I stay in many Motel One's across Europe. This hotel has superior customer service and is in the midst of the city center - an excellent location. Most attractions in Copenhagen are very walkable. There is a great outdoor bar in a courtyard setting. The bathrooms (as mentioned in previous reviews) are very small, even by European standards. For me, not a big deal because I spent so little time in my room. Beds are the most comfortable of any Motel One I have visited.
Very clean and efficient. Friendly and helpful staff.
Nice location anf price, best in Coppenhagen I think.
Disastrous reception at night.
Good hotel for the money. Very good location for touring the area outdoor patio bar was great.
On arrival we were provided a room barely bigger than the bed in it, with not even room for a chair. This did not appear to be the level of accommodation I had seen and booked online. But worse, the room was unbearably hot, sauna-like, with the sun beating in and no air-conditioning or even ventilation apparent. To the staff’s credit, they were quick to acknowledge the heating/ventilating problem, and offered us another room, this one slightly larger, and with ventilation possible; however, I was then required to pay extra for that room, which in my mind was the size and type I thought I had originally reserved. I paid the extra fee, but maintain that should not have been necessary, given what I had reserved. I maintain that the additional daily fee that I paid should be reimbursed to me, and appreciate your response to this request.
Good location. Good staff. The room was too small. Not having a table or chair or enough space for more than one suitcase were sadly downsides to what could have been a good stay.
One hiccup with our room assignment but staff was very apologetic and comp’d us breakfast. Room was clean and front desk staff was amazing. Would definitely stay here again!
Lovely staff, cozy room, great experience!
We arrived after a terrible journey, we were on motorbikes. The weather had been horrendous all day. On arriving in reception, dripping all over the floor and feel very sorry for myself, the reception staff were lovely and got us into the carpark quickly and made sure we had a quiet room. Despite how we looked we were treated kindly and respectfully. The hotel is excellent, brilliant location, friendly staff, nice bar, great breakfast and smart clean rooms.
A perfect stay. Central location, quiet modern room, nice and helpful staff. Fair price.
Very professional and smiling staff, from reception to breakfast and bar. They made me feel very welcome. The hotel is very clean, the room is larger than in most hotels in Copenhagen. The shower was excellent. It's in a very convenient location, with the metro only a few minutes' walk away. On the other side of the bar, there is a nice louge area and a quiet garden. The breakfast selection is great, with fresh produce.
Small rooms, but very stylish and with everything you need (though no desk). Lovely bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Pity that the TV only has Chromecast (too modern for me!).
The hotel was great from beginning to end. Check in was very efficient and we were offered a small upgrade to get into our room sooner after an all night flight. The staff were really helpful throughout and the breakfast was excellent.
Perfect spot in the center of town Friendly receptionists Comfortable bed Great shower Small but adequate room Only negative is the complicated TV connection
Very good room. Really fluffy bed. Very nice location. Everything was super clean. WiFi was really nice which suprised me. I had a wonderful stay at Motel One.
I book this hotel for my family visiting us from Italy. And I could not have been more happy !! The hotel infrastructure welcome the guest very highly and together with kind and professional support, one can really feel at home ! I highly recommend this hotel both for its quality (beds were super comfortable, the small outdoor garden and the indoor creativity room with bar cocktail are were extremely clean, furnished and offering so many corners of relax) and for the great position in central Copenhagen. I thank all the staff for the kind and helpful assistance during my family stay. And I wish to sincerely thank Vivi and Lucia as they had eyes of regards for my family members supporting them when lost in translation (they only speak Italian) Thank you Motel One Copenhagen !
Super friendly staff, clean, great location, bike rental worked great
The service was superior, friendly, and very timely! I slept very well s the bed was excellent! The breakfast waa very good with alot of choices!!!
Overall it was nice and comfortable. The staff were professional. If the hotel could provide some basic room amenities like hair conditioner, body lotion, tissue box, and at least one umbrella that would have been better so we didn’t have to buy all of them.
Your staff need to be friendlier. I realise they are so busy and rushed but that indicates there need to be more on duty. Being rude and rushed is not welcoming. The rooms have terrible soundproofing (or no soundproofing). I could hear the bathroom being used next door as well as people having telephone conversations or talking in the rooms next to me. This is not good enough.
Staff was excellent. We asked to move rooms after first night due to loud music from blues lounge down the street. Was moved immediately to first floor room by courtyard. Much better but ppl still talking there loudly late evening after motel one bar closes so couldn’t keep windows open. Also need to keep curtains closed a lot cause you can see into other rooms. Room was fine, basic. Need much brighter light bulbs, esp if you need to keep curtains closed. Shelves in bathroom would be nice, as nowhere for 2 ppl to put things. Breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choices as was the bar for getting drinks. Location was terrific for sightseeing in Copenhagen. Would def stay here again.
The lobby was very cozy - a very nice place to sit, relax, have a coffee or a drink. The room & the bathroom were spacious and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very rich. The location was excellent! We had a great time, and I strongly recommend it!
Melina i think her name was at the front desk did a exelent job, very good service!

Your hotel in Copenhagen
Our affordable design hotel in Copenhagen is located right in the centre of the Danish capital, opposite the city hall and the Rådhuspladsen. From here, you can easily reach all of Copenhagen’s top sights – and there are plenty of them to explore. After all, the capital is one of the most important cities in northern Europe and a popular destination for city breaks, not least because it offers one of the best qualities of life in the world.
What does Copenhagen have to offer?
Top of the list of highlights is the city’s iconic landmark, The Little Mermaid. The statue of the character from Hans Christian Anderson’s fairytale awaits you on the Langelinie waterside promenade, around 30 minutes from our hotel. You’ll also find Copenhagen’s citadel here, a star-shaped 17th century fortress open to the public. And did you spot Charlottenborg Palace and the Old Stock Exchange on the walk over? You’ll also have passed Christiansborg Palace, the seat of the Danish parliament. It’s conveniently located by Copenhagen’s gastronomic hub, Nyhavn, or ‘new harbour’. There’s something to suit everyone’s tastes in the streets of this area, with their brightly coloured gabled houses dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. But Copenhagen’s lively history as a port and trading city – and the resulting architecture – is far from the only reason to visit. By the harbour, you’ll find the Royal Danish Theatre and Royal Danish Library, also known as the ‘Black Diamond’. Here, it’s not just what’s on the inside that counts: these notable examples of modern architecture are worth a stop on any city tour. And if they’ve inspired you to seek out more Nordic design, the Design Museum Denmark displays objects from the workshops of Danish designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Poul Henningsen.
Just a short walk from our hotel lies Freetown Christiania, an autonomous area that offers a very different perspective on Copenhagen – including from an architectural point of view. The alternative housing development in the district of Christianshavn has been self-governed since its creation in the 1970s and is a symbol of Denmark’s progressive culture. Our hotel in Copenhagen is also a perfect starting point for leisure activities: Tivoli, the world’s oldest amusement park, lies directly opposite. Or is Copenhagen just the first step on your Nordic discovery tour? Perfect: our affordable design hotel is located just north of the Øresund Bridge, which links Copenhagen with its neighbour Sweden.
