Definitely will be staying here again, perfect location for tourist attractions, shopping dining etc
Every aspect of our stay was wonderful! Easy check-in, very friendly staff. The location was perfect for us, easy walk to nearest subway stop. There were lots of bars and restaurants right near the hotel, and Tivoli is a block or two away. The included breakfast was amazing--such a great variety of foods, from fresh fruit salad, to eggs and bacon, breads, pastries, cold cuts, cereals, yogurt--you name it! It was our favorite breakfast on our trip. The room was sparkling clean, the bed was comfy and the linens were soft. Can't say enough good things about Motel One Copenhagen!
Staff great - comfortable- great location
Rooms and bed are very small
I stay in many Motel One's across Europe. This hotel has superior customer service and is in the midst of the city center - an excellent location. Most attractions in Copenhagen are very walkable. There is a great outdoor bar in a courtyard setting. The bathrooms (as mentioned in previous reviews) are very small, even by European standards. For me, not a big deal because I spent so little time in my room. Beds are the most comfortable of any Motel One I have visited.
Very clean and efficient. Friendly and helpful staff.
Nice location anf price, best in Coppenhagen I think.
Disastrous reception at night.
Good hotel for the money. Very good location for touring the area outdoor patio bar was great.
On arrival we were provided a room barely bigger than the bed in it, with not even room for a chair. This did not appear to be the level of accommodation I had seen and booked online. But worse, the room was unbearably hot, sauna-like, with the sun beating in and no air-conditioning or even ventilation apparent. To the staff’s credit, they were quick to acknowledge the heating/ventilating problem, and offered us another room, this one slightly larger, and with ventilation possible; however, I was then required to pay extra for that room, which in my mind was the size and type I thought I had originally reserved. I paid the extra fee, but maintain that should not have been necessary, given what I had reserved. I maintain that the additional daily fee that I paid should be reimbursed to me, and appreciate your response to this request.
Good location. Good staff. The room was too small. Not having a table or chair or enough space for more than one suitcase were sadly downsides to what could have been a good stay.
One hiccup with our room assignment but staff was very apologetic and comp’d us breakfast. Room was clean and front desk staff was amazing. Would definitely stay here again!
Lovely staff, cozy room, great experience!
We arrived after a terrible journey, we were on motorbikes. The weather had been horrendous all day. On arriving in reception, dripping all over the floor and feel very sorry for myself, the reception staff were lovely and got us into the carpark quickly and made sure we had a quiet room. Despite how we looked we were treated kindly and respectfully. The hotel is excellent, brilliant location, friendly staff, nice bar, great breakfast and smart clean rooms.
A perfect stay. Central location, quiet modern room, nice and helpful staff. Fair price.
Very professional and smiling staff, from reception to breakfast and bar. They made me feel very welcome. The hotel is very clean, the room is larger than in most hotels in Copenhagen. The shower was excellent. It's in a very convenient location, with the metro only a few minutes' walk away. On the other side of the bar, there is a nice louge area and a quiet garden. The breakfast selection is great, with fresh produce.
Small rooms, but very stylish and with everything you need (though no desk). Lovely bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Pity that the TV only has Chromecast (too modern for me!).
The hotel was great from beginning to end. Check in was very efficient and we were offered a small upgrade to get into our room sooner after an all night flight. The staff were really helpful throughout and the breakfast was excellent.
Perfect spot in the center of town Friendly receptionists Comfortable bed Great shower Small but adequate room Only negative is the complicated TV connection
Very good room. Really fluffy bed. Very nice location. Everything was super clean. WiFi was really nice which suprised me. I had a wonderful stay at Motel One.
I book this hotel for my family visiting us from Italy. And I could not have been more happy !! The hotel infrastructure welcome the guest very highly and together with kind and professional support, one can really feel at home ! I highly recommend this hotel both for its quality (beds were super comfortable, the small outdoor garden and the indoor creativity room with bar cocktail are were extremely clean, furnished and offering so many corners of relax) and for the great position in central Copenhagen. I thank all the staff for the kind and helpful assistance during my family stay. And I wish to sincerely thank Vivi and Lucia as they had eyes of regards for my family members supporting them when lost in translation (they only speak Italian) Thank you Motel One Copenhagen !
Super friendly staff, clean, great location, bike rental worked great
The service was superior, friendly, and very timely! I slept very well s the bed was excellent! The breakfast waa very good with alot of choices!!!
Overall it was nice and comfortable. The staff were professional. If the hotel could provide some basic room amenities like hair conditioner, body lotion, tissue box, and at least one umbrella that would have been better so we didn’t have to buy all of them.
Your staff need to be friendlier. I realise they are so busy and rushed but that indicates there need to be more on duty. Being rude and rushed is not welcoming. The rooms have terrible soundproofing (or no soundproofing). I could hear the bathroom being used next door as well as people having telephone conversations or talking in the rooms next to me. This is not good enough.
Staff was excellent. We asked to move rooms after first night due to loud music from blues lounge down the street. Was moved immediately to first floor room by courtyard. Much better but ppl still talking there loudly late evening after motel one bar closes so couldn’t keep windows open. Also need to keep curtains closed a lot cause you can see into other rooms. Room was fine, basic. Need much brighter light bulbs, esp if you need to keep curtains closed. Shelves in bathroom would be nice, as nowhere for 2 ppl to put things. Breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choices as was the bar for getting drinks. Location was terrific for sightseeing in Copenhagen. Would def stay here again.
The lobby was very cozy - a very nice place to sit, relax, have a coffee or a drink. The room & the bathroom were spacious and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very rich. The location was excellent! We had a great time, and I strongly recommend it!
Melina i think her name was at the front desk did a exelent job, very good service!
Great location, amazing staff, good-sized room. Only downside was no coffee/tea making within the room.
Need tea making facility in room. Also face washer in bathroom.
Extremely high price (520 eur/night), for a room that was just big enough to accommodate the bed. Have stayed in previous years at various other CPH hotels (Strand, Wake Up) which offered a considerably better price / quality.
Great central location and friendly staff to hand.
I like the hotel, however my room 107 was very noisy. next time I prefer a more quiet room. i like the location of the hotel, it's central.
Good design, good breakfast, good location, too small the room
Overall, we had a good stay at Motel One Copenhagen. The hotel feels modern and welcoming. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good. Our room was fairly basic but generally met the spec. However, the only source of room cooling, a ceiling fan, didn't work for the entire three night stay which meant we had to keep the window open all night resulting in a disturbed sleep due to outside noise. Staff tried fixing it but maintenance never attended. We were given free breakfast to compensate which was appreciated.
The location was ideal to be visiting all the main tourist spots and restaurants! The beds were very comfortable and rooms clean. The lounge was great but wishes there was food or snacks offered for sale until late night. Many restaurants clised by 9 or 10 and we had no food options getting back late.
Little loud due to the church bells
Everything was great.
Really great hotel in every way - location, bar/lobby, breakfast and lovely staff. Highly recommended.
Our second stay in Copenhagen! Very friendly staff, good breakfast, great lounge. We will come back.
Great location, staff has always a real smile for the guests. Breakfast was good and room too. Garage is a bit tricky but at least we were happy there was on! All in all sure a place to stay again when coming back to Copenhagen! Thanks for the kindness and good drinks at the bar😁
We enjoyed our stay. The price was good and the accommodation was very comfortable, and the staff were very accommodating and pleasant. Two small things, hence the score of 9. Firstly, no English speaking channels, and not everyone has Netflix etc to throw at the TV. There was also a problem with their WiFi, which in fairness they fixed when we queried why it wouldn’t work. Secondly, there is always “music” in the common areas, but the volume was intrusive and definitely not relaxing.
This is a great hotel with a very pleasant staff. The room to which I was allocated was lovely. Unfortunately road works outside meant an early morning wakening but when I asked to be moved this was arranged without any problem. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel was convenient for the station, shops, cafes etc. I would be happy to stay there again
Good hotel in a great location.
Excellent staff and location. Would have preferred TV programs to be available.
I have stayed in several Motel Ones, and I think this one may be the best. I appreciate the design choices (the tiled sink pedestal in the lobby bathroom, for example) and the wooden hooks in the rooms. It's also very clean and very good value for money. I did miss what I thought was my free water when I checked in? But perhaps that's not included at this location.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was sufficiently clean. I found that the bed was too soft and a little small for a double. It would also be nice to have had a kettle in the room to make hot drinks. The reason that I gave the bathroom 9 was that there wasn't enough space to fit my sponge bag without putting something on the floor.
Our stay from start to end was an exercise in hospitality. Because of the Distortion music festival we were provided with a quiet-side room. Our hostess was observant in her deducing we were not big fans of late night techno. (The music, when we walked by the venue, was great - invigorating). Breakfasts were consistently great.
Very clean room and amazing breakfast
the bar tender was quiet friendly. All other staff did only their jobs, expecially on the reception.

Your hotel in Copenhagen
Our affordable design hotel in Copenhagen is located right in the centre of the Danish capital, opposite the city hall and the Rådhuspladsen. From here, you can easily reach all of Copenhagen’s top sights – and there are plenty of them to explore. After all, the capital is one of the most important cities in northern Europe and a popular destination for city breaks, not least because it offers one of the best qualities of life in the world.
What does Copenhagen have to offer?
Top of the list of highlights is the city’s iconic landmark, The Little Mermaid. The statue of the character from Hans Christian Anderson’s fairytale awaits you on the Langelinie waterside promenade, around 30 minutes from our hotel. You’ll also find Copenhagen’s citadel here, a star-shaped 17th century fortress open to the public. And did you spot Charlottenborg Palace and the Old Stock Exchange on the walk over? You’ll also have passed Christiansborg Palace, the seat of the Danish parliament. It’s conveniently located by Copenhagen’s gastronomic hub, Nyhavn, or ‘new harbour’. There’s something to suit everyone’s tastes in the streets of this area, with their brightly coloured gabled houses dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. But Copenhagen’s lively history as a port and trading city – and the resulting architecture – is far from the only reason to visit. By the harbour, you’ll find the Royal Danish Theatre and Royal Danish Library, also known as the ‘Black Diamond’. Here, it’s not just what’s on the inside that counts: these notable examples of modern architecture are worth a stop on any city tour. And if they’ve inspired you to seek out more Nordic design, the Design Museum Denmark displays objects from the workshops of Danish designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Poul Henningsen.
Just a short walk from our hotel lies Freetown Christiania, an autonomous area that offers a very different perspective on Copenhagen – including from an architectural point of view. The alternative housing development in the district of Christianshavn has been self-governed since its creation in the 1970s and is a symbol of Denmark’s progressive culture. Our hotel in Copenhagen is also a perfect starting point for leisure activities: Tivoli, the world’s oldest amusement park, lies directly opposite. Or is Copenhagen just the first step on your Nordic discovery tour? Perfect: our affordable design hotel is located just north of the Øresund Bridge, which links Copenhagen with its neighbour Sweden.
