Accessibility statement

Introduction
Motel One strives to ensure that all its digital services are accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG). All websites have been developed in accordance with the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, compliance level AA.
The accessibility of the websites has been audited by an external body. We are currently carrying out targeted optimisation based on the results of this audit, in order to improve usability for everyone – especially for people with disabilities.
beOne App
We are currently working on making all aspects of the beOne App accessible. If you need accessible features in the meantime and would like to make a room reservation, please visit our accessible website at https://www.motel-one.com or https://www.the-cloud-one.com.
Third-party providers: chatbot
Our chatbot is provided by an external service provider, DialogShift GmbH. Responsibility for the digital accessibility of this outsourced feature lies with the provider itself.
You can find the DialogShift accessibility statement at the following link: https://assets.dialogshift.com/documentation/ds-barrierefreiheitsstaerkungsgesetz.pdf
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
- Alternative text for images: image descriptions are sometimes insufficient or not available. In addition, alternative texts are occasionally used for decorative images, which means that they do not always reflect the actual content or function. We are reviewing and updating these texts on an ongoing basis.
- Adjustment when enlarged: not all content cannot be enlarged without causing display issues. We are working on improving the scalability of text.
- Headers: the hierarchical structure has not been correctly implemented on all pages or headers are not marked as such on a technical level.
- Machine readability: at present, not all (operating) elements can be fully captured by assistive technology such as screen readers. We are gradually implementing technical optimisations.
- Keyboard operation: it is not currently possible to operate all (control) elements using a keyboard and the visual focus indicator is not always clearly visible. We are also carrying out ongoing reviews and implementing technical improvements in this area.
- Forms: some forms are missing the correct links between labels, input fields, instructions and error messages, which can impair the use of assistive technology. We are working to remove these barriers step by step.
- Contrasts: in certain cases, the colour contrasts are not high enough to ensure good legibility. We are currently revising the colour scheme for text and non-text content and will implement the appropriate adjustments.
- Language of individual content: in some cases, the language of individual sections of the text is incorrectly marked. This can make the content insufficiently comprehensible or screen readers may not be able to reproduce content in the correct language. We are checking and correcting these labels.
