The hotel is in a great situation to access Edinburgh. The lounge and bar area were very comfortable and the staff were professional and friendly.
Perfect location, efficient and pleasant staff and spotless.
Great location for Edinburgh. Staff are always polite and friendly. Main bonus on this visit was the no fuss, quick check in which was a great benefit as my wife had been unwell and was very tired after travelling. We were able to go to straight to our room prior to normal check in time which was greatly appreciated. Thanks for a great stay.
Great location, nice and clean, good attentive staff. Could do with more shelves/draws in room
The Check-In staff were professional, cheerful and helpful.
My room was miles away. The TV was stuck on audio description and I slept with the fireplace on the TV as I couldn't turn it off. The cups for tea were unpleasant. There was no glass for water. No toiletries provided. My room was freezing cold and I was unable to change the temperature. I could hear the door slamming from the next door room. One of my towels was stained. No ironing board.
Thank you for everything especially for your service workers they found my wife's earings and ı posted this on booking and rate you 10 points
I absolutely loved this place! Friendly staff, wonderful service and the food was amazing!
Cosy room with everything we needed. Staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was excellent for the price. We would definitely stay here again.
Always professional, always pleasant.
Great location, very friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
(As usual) wonderful staff and breakfast, cozy room, perfect location to enjoy the city A double-door entrance would help block out the cold air, making the experience even better when relaxing in the lounge or having breakfast
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Fantastic location and modern hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The only suggestion for improvement was more efficiency clearing the tables at breakfast.
Brought my young baby and staff were very helpful and approachable. Clean room and great location. The only fault I have is that the room was uncomfortably warm, especially at night. Staff were helpful and provided a fan, but that didn’t really help alleviate the heat in the room. I have stayed in the sister hotel close by and also found their rooms to be too warm.
Incredible Hotel the location was excellent. I’ll stay again when I will visit the city again!!!
We had a lovely weekend stay. Our room was clean and comfortable and we appreciate being able to decline daily cleaning. Staff were friendly. Not specific to the hotel, but your website, emails and app could be improved in efficiency.
Great location not far from the train station and close to the old city of Edinburgh, the room small but it had a comfortable bed and was absolutely fine for our stay , we had a problem with the shower but they promptly fixed it. And would stay there again .
Friendly helpful staff, especially at reception. Excellent room. Brilliant breakfasts both mornings Hotel very clean. Superb location in central Edinburgh.
This was our fifth stay at your hotel, and once again, the hospitality exceeded all expectations. The staff remain as warm, welcoming, helpful, and patient as ever, making every visit truly special. Over time, this place has become like a second home to us, and no other offer could ever change that. A special well done to everyone, particularly the front office team who were on duty from the 16th to the 20th of March — your dedication and professionalism did not go unnoticed.
Great location, friendly staff, lovely breakfast.
Comfortable stay. Only stay one night but hotel grest location in centre and room was quiet too. 1st room was hard to find (different part of hotel) but went to reception and they changed my room quickly.
Normally stay at Princess St hotel, but we got moved to this one. No regrets, got upgraded room as it was our 20th anniversary super room facilities and view. Friendly staff .well recommended
Great location. Quiet comfortable room. Fantastic choice.
The staff were all excellent and by & large the facility was too however could have been improved in a few small ways. For example on arrival it would be normal to have a bottle of water in the room for each guest. We also found it unusual that there was no extractor fan in the bathroom so after showering the mirror was completely misted. The only solution was to open the door to demist it but as the door has a closing mechanism we had to put a towel against the door to prevent it from closing. Finally there is no closable plug in the sink so shaving is only possible by removing the plug, wrapping paper around it's bottom and refixing it back in the sink. Apart from these issues we had an excellent stay.
W tak uroczym obiekcie rozczarowaniem były plastikowe kubki na herbatę w pokoju.
Friendly staff and very efficient too. Central location which suited us well. I was a little cold at night but should have asked for a blanket which I'm sure would have been provided. We have plans to stay in other Motel One in the future.
Excellent location to Old Town and Princess Street. Value for money Staff extremely helpful and courteous. Continental breakfast had good choices. Rooms clean and comfortable.
Overall a very nice modern and stylish hotel in an excellent location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely, relaxed bar area with reasonable prices for evening drinks. I was less impressed with using the same space and the low informal furniture for the buffet breakfast. We may have been unlucky but we arrived half way through breakfast service on our first day - 9am - and found very little left that we wanted to eat. We waited for staff to replenish but they didn’t. Therefore, a croissant (most of which ends up in your lap) and cup of poor coffee cost us almost £30. We went out for the £14.95 Breakfast Special at The Ivy in St Andrews Square on our second day. This is my only criticism of the hotel and i would certainly stay there again.
Lovely clean, well appointed rooms, friendly, helpful staff
Clean, comfortable and conveniently located. Friendly staff! Would stay here again
Very helpful, engaging staff at reception. Convenient area as you enter the building allowing for a relaxing social breakfast space. This Hotel is so central to the heart of Edinburgh and the railway station. Quiet comfortable rooms.
Motel One Royal is in excellent location, you literally can not beat it. Perfect for exploring the old and new town. Hotel itself is very well maintained, the room was really nice with comfortable bed and pillows. The staff at reception is very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Anton and Maria for providing excellent customer service and making our experience even better. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Excellent!! The location was exceptional and the room very spacious and comfortable. We would definitely choose to stay again.
Clean hotel . Breakfast good TV channels didn’t work which was annoying
Very impressed with all aspects of the experience.
We visit Edinburgh every year and love this hotel, situation is perfect, rooms are lovely and the staff are really helpful and friendly.Personally we wouldn't stay anywhere else.👏👏
Had a fantastic time in Edinburough. Was a great place to stay. Location was perfect along with room, staff and breakfast. Ate every morning at Motel One, food was great. Thank You!
The motel was clean but the room was overrated. The receptionists where really friendly and lovely and I have nothing to say on the way how they make us feel welcome, keep up the good work! However I really felt that the priced payed for the room was way too much, the room was just ok, no window on the toilet and has the description I was expecting the viewing on the castle but I actually was seeing only the ferris wheel. The pillows on top of the one white one ( the blue one) where dirty and full of hair for 150£ I believe I could found much better than that.
Our 2nd stay here.Excellent location opposite Waverley Bridge. Lovely staff. Big clean room. Very quiet. Everything you could want from a nice hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel was really convenient to princess street n Cockburn road to the right of hotel takes you to the royal mile Also a short walk to get airport bus Staff were very friendly and helpful The drinks are very reasonable compared to other hotels prices Rooms were clean n bed was very comfortable We enjoyed our stay for one night
Fabulous location, we arrived by train and then easily took airport bus upon departure. Safely stored luggage at hotel until check in time. We were given numbered receipt for each luggage item. Walked to all the sights. Very modern bathroom and shower.
I paid extra for a room with a view, and I did get a reasonable view to the north over the railway station but the window was much smaller than I expected according to the photos online. The only other slight annoyance was that the bathroom door wouldn’t stay open on its own, thus making it necessary to turn the light on every time I wanted to duck in for a few seconds to get an item or rinse my hands, etc. If I didn’t pay attention it would bang shut behind me. Location was unbeatable for access to the railway station, the old town, and most of the points of interest being just a short walk away. Cleanliness good, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was adequate.
nice room, maybe a little more space next to the bed as a bedside table would be appreciated
Conveniently situated but really only suitable for a short stay - not one where one wants to unpack. In my first room the only shelves were above my head height. The second room did have accessible shelves but they were in a very dark alcove. I needed my phone torch to see what I placed on the shelves.
First and foremost, the staff and facilities are top-notch. Each time we had a question or needed help, someone was always there to happily help us out. The location speaks for itself. Motel One is situated such a convenient location for everything you want to do in Edinburgh. I could not recommend the hotel more and hope to be back someday. Cheers for a fantastic stay!
We loved our stay. Great location, good breakfast options, and nice bar in lobby. We recommend to anyone going to Edinburgh.
You are number One
We recently stayed at Motel One on the Royal Mile for my partners birthday overnight stay away! What a wonderful hotel with beautiful decor! Our room was so comfy and the perfect location for a night out on the town! Would definitely stay here again next time we're up in the Capital! Thank you for an amazing stay!!!
Very enjoyable stay. Could have done with a light by the cupboard shelves, too dark to see our clothes, needed a second chair in the double room, and a bin by the tea and kettle for used teabags etc instead of taking them into the bathroom.
Bardzo ładny hotel w samym centrum super lokalizacja, przyjemne wnętrza, ciekawa stylizacja, duży pokój, pyszne śniadania. Widok na zabytkowa ulice miasta.

Hotel Edynburg-Royal
Botaniczne detale dekoracji i obsadzona prawdziwymi paprociami i mchem tylna ściana recepcji nadają wnętrzom hotelu uroku szkockiego krajobrazu.
Oczywiście: liczne puby, restauracje i kawiarnie.
