The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The king bed made the compact space very tight, a queen bed might have fit better. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Everything was excellent. Amazing staff.but would have preferred the room to be a little larger and given the option of a cooked breakfast
This place was clean and kind of fancy looking, like, a nice room. They provided toiletries. They take a £50 deposit from you when you arrive, on top of the room fee, so heads up on that. I bought a bottle of sparkling water from them which turned out to cost £4.50. The thermostat was hard to control in the room and it was far too hot, the default setting should be much lower. There was a huge mirror right next to the head of the bed, a bizarre design choice which meant you could see your creepy reflection in the dark. So some good things and some uncomfortable things.
Perfect location. Nice clean rooms. Good beds. Easy check-in and check out
Really very good indeed. Amazingly convenient location. Loved that I could be on a train platform in 5 minutes from my room. Decoration was cool, staff always friendly and helpful. Quiet. All perfect
Great location for city break in Edinburgh. Great sleep had in clean, smart room. Bed a little on the hard side for my wife’s liking. Bar area newly refurbished and welcoming.
The staff were very friendly and smartly dressed. The room was clean and comfortable. Very nice lounge and bar to sit and relax with a drink. Great location.
We had a stay for 2 nights, and absolutely loved it! The location was perfect, just a short walk to Princes Street. The room was spotless, clean and comfortable with the beautiful view of Calton Hill. The staff was laudable too from the manager, front desk, waiter, room attendant. Kudos to Erwin Tolentino who went above and beyond to make our stay special and Tom who assisted us even when not asked. Everything was excellent, great value for money. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
A very centrally located hotel with great reception staff. The room was comfortable however lighting was poor as was clothing storage Lovely view of Edinburgh Breakfast was lovely as was the bar dining area
Enjoyed our short stay with Motel One
We have stayed at this hotel several times. We particularly like its location so close to Waverley station. The recent renovation of the lounge reception areas and the rooms is very impressive and the staff were helpful and friendly as usual. Unfortunately on our first night we didn’t get much sleep due to a constant low level thumping bass and drums all through the night. At breakfast we realised there is a speaker in the lounge ceiling which is the floor of our room. We reported this to the reception staff who apologised saying the night staff sometimes forget to turn the music off at midnight. This is a very poor design since modern sound systems can easily be installed with adequate sound proofing. I wouldn’t accept a room on the second floor in future. The bathroom still doesn’t have a heated towel rail so you have to use fresh towels every day which isn’t very environmentally friendly. I also find it disappointing that motel one uses “dynamic pricing” meaning we unwittingly paid more for our room than if we’d booked on the day we arrived.
I had the most comfortable stay in Motel One during my visit with my friends . The location couldn’t be more central , the staff very professional and would go an extra mile for their clients . The manager in charge (Erwin) was able to secure us another night as we had to extend our stay . We definitely would come back . *****5
Great location, friendly staff and well appointed room
Excellent throughout. Well located, near to Waverley station. Friendly and informative welcome at check-in. Clean and quiet room with great view. Enjoyable breakfast with good options.
Good accommodation, great people but our room was far too warm with no effective method available to cool it down.
Hotel is in a convenient location, close to Waverley train station, all transport links and the main shopping area. The staff were all helpful and friendly. I would be happy to stay here again.
Beautiful Hotel, great room for 3 people, I Double bed and one sofa bed that would sleep 2..Beautiful view room 231, def would stay again, really quirky bar and hotel us so central to everything, just opposite train station and airport bus , I would highly recommend !
Excellent location, clean basic room
Staff was welcoming, room was great with a comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast choices.
The room was too small with a tiny window and too hot. It wasn’t good value for money and it was not cheap. There was no information on the price of breakfast anywhere. There was a humming noise in the bedroom which kept me up at night. Bed and pillows not comfy. The WiFi was good as was the shower pressure. Location was handy and a nice view at the bar.
Excellent stay in a superb location. Arrived earlier than check in to leave our bags. Was advised our room was ready so was delighted to be able to freshen up and head out again. Returned to our room late afternoon but did find the room a bit cool. Upped the thermostat but it didn’t really make much difference unfortunately. As we prefer a cooler room overnight it was ok. Had a room overlooking Princes St so thought it might be noisy overnight but didn’t hear a thing. Bed was super comfy. Definitely recommend and will return
Nice Hotel in a great location. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The location was excellent as it’s just a 2 minute walk from the train station and in the heart of Edinburgh making it a perfect place to explore from.
Great hotel in a great location. Lovely hot shower and comfy bed after a long day seeing the sights.
We were welcomed by very friendly and hospitable staff (Haley and Thea). The hotel room was very clean and tidy, the hotel itself is in great location and very close to the trainatation.
We stayed in the hotel from Wednesday to Saturday. We were met at the reception by Haley, who was extremely helpful and friendly, as were all the staff. We asked for a quiet room and she did everything possible to make it happen. We were a group of 10, and most of us were able to check in early because the rooms were ready at midday. Otherwise, they locked the luggage away for us. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, and any issues were quickly resolved. From the breakfast/bar area, there is a wonderful view, through the many windows, of Princes Street and Wellington Square. Perhaps the hotel could offer more variety of snacks at the bar area, but, on the other hand, there are so many places to eat in Edinburgh that it was not a problem for us. Such a great location for a stay in Edinburgh, I can really highly recommend the hotel.
Very polite and welcoming staff. Beautiful interiors and convenient location on Princes Street, Edinburgh. As far as I am aware the rooms for disabled guests appear to have no views other than a courtyard. It would be nice if they also had a choice of the beautiful views over Princess Street and to the Castle. The en-suite shower room, in the disabled room, and the bed room would benefit from brighter lighting and more shelves/storage please. It would be easier to manage a wheelchair in a larger room. Two beds would be ideal, if a carer needs to be in close attendance. Lower hanging rails would be more accessible. Thank you for a pleasant stay, with attentive and caring staff.
This was a conveniently located hotel with great comfort and amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this property to a friend.
During this trip, I stayed 2 times (2 different places) at Motel One and in general I liked a lot to stay there. At Edinburgh the room was a bit cold without heater, but I talked with a staff who gave me a good advice, also I got to know it was because of the period of time, so it's ok.
Hotel was modern, clean and spacious. It’s is in a fantastic location across the road from Waverley Train station, round the corner from the St James Centre and a short walk to the Playhouse. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I would stay here again and would recommend to others.
Great weekend in Edinburgh. Great hotel in excellent location. The staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and they were all friendly, cheerful and approachable. My husband has ill health and our room was too cold for him. Visited reception and although the heating was centrally they got us a heater and additional duvet within minutes. Lovely breakfast, again if something had run out there were always plenty of staff around to sort it out quickly. Would definitely recommend !
A good welcome at Reception a clean and most comfortable room, with an excellent view from the window. It was ideal
Our stay was absolutely excellent! The reception staff were extremely pleasant. We were delighted with our room overlooking Princess Street. Very handy location for shopping or dining Breakfast following morning was well presented and plenty of choice. All staff very pleasant and friendly.
Although the location is centrally located I would not recommend this hotel unless you do t mind the street noise all night long. The bed was extremely hard and the pillows were absolutely terrible. They were very nice about storing luggage for free while we went on a tour. The breakfast was also good.
Unfortunately the experience was very negative. We found underwear in our room, obviously the room was not cleaned properly. I asked for a different room and unfortunately there the heating was not working properly. We received a removable heater but and the staff was nice but overall it was a very disappointing experience.
Great location, especially if you are travelling into Edinburgh by train. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Rooms and hotel were clean and bright.
Excellent location. Lovely bar & lounge. Very good continental breakfast. Staff friendly. Comfortable room, bed was comfortable but we both felt we could roll off the sides of the bed as they dipped down. The only complaint was the piped music in the bar and lounge which was particularly loud and so it was difficult to have a conversation - when we asked Reception they advised that there wasn’t anything they could do about the volume as it was controlled by Germany!
First time here and I was taken care off so well. The only reason it is not a ten has to do with the room not being able to get warm enough despite kicking up the temp. The room was lovely and the note for my birthday exquisite.
Nice room decor etc quiet breakfast excellent. Staff excellent in general wee down side no waste bin in room. One in bathroom. All in all we will.be back
The front desk staff were amazing and so nice
Clean, good staff , comfortable
This hotel had what I needed in a very convenient location. Staff are very friendly and helpful and it’s great having the bar with light snacks. Hotel was warm and that helped with the cold weather. Only negative was that my bed was a little bit too firm.
Really lovely stay . Great location lovely staff .
Friendly staff en clean rooms . Great Location .
I made a small mistake with my booking so had to book an extra night rather taken aback by the cost. Could you tell me why so expensive when surely good for you to have that extra booking. My only complaint.
My husband and I stayed here recently and I have to say this hotel was excellent. It just across from the train station so close to shops. Our room was very clean and bedding was crispy clean.continental Breakfast was lovely everything was fresh and presented well. Staff were excellent very friendly and bubbly. Have to say Cameron was second to none this girl went above and beyond for us. Would highly recommend this hotel. One thing I would say is ask for a room with the view of the castle when booking. Definitely will be back.
We loved your friendly staff. We are sending Hailey (sorry if the name is spelled wrong) 2 thums up! Every hotel need people like her! The bed was very hard.
It close to everything
Great location, clean and well appointed room. Lovely staff. Our only concern was our location above the Reception and Lounge (RM237) as the speakers for these areas are mounted in the ceiling and reverberated into our room.
Hotel czysty, dostępny, załoga przesympatyczna i pomocna. Do 10-tki brakuje ciepłego posiłku na śniadaniu, które jest bardzo smaczne i produkty są dobrej jakości, co doceniam, ale po tygodniu pobytu chciałoby się zjeść coś ciepłego. Jedna propozycja.
