Brought my young baby and staff were very helpful and approachable. Clean room and great location. The only fault I have is that the room was uncomfortably warm, especially at night. Staff were helpful and provided a fan, but that didn’t really help alleviate the heat in the room. I have stayed in the sister hotel close by and also found their rooms to be too warm.

We had a lovely weekend stay. Our room was clean and comfortable and we appreciate being able to decline daily cleaning. Staff were friendly. Not specific to the hotel, but your website, emails and app could be improved in efficiency.
Great location not far from the train station and close to the old city of Edinburgh, the room small but it had a comfortable bed and was absolutely fine for our stay , we had a problem with the shower but they promptly fixed it. And would stay there again .

This was our fifth stay at your hotel, and once again, the hospitality exceeded all expectations. The staff remain as warm, welcoming, helpful, and patient as ever, making every visit truly special. Over time, this place has become like a second home to us, and no other offer could ever change that. A special well done to everyone, particularly the front office team who were on duty from the 16th to the 20th of March — your dedication and professionalism did not go unnoticed.

Comfortable stay. Only stay one night but hotel grest location in centre and room was quiet too. 1st room was hard to find (different part of hotel) but went to reception and they changed my room quickly.
Normally stay at Princess St hotel,but we got moved to this one. No regrets,got upgraded room as it was our 20th anniversary super room facilities and view. Friendly staff .well recommended

The staff were all excellent and by & large the facility was too however could have been improved in a few small ways. For example on arrival it would be normal to have a bottle of water in the room for each guest. We also found it unusual that there was no extractor fan in the bathroom so after showering the mirror was completely misted. The only solution was to open the door to demist it but as the door has a closing mechanism we had to put a towel against the door to prevent it from closing. Finally there is no closable plug in the sink so shaving is only possible by removing the plug, wrapping paper around it's bottom and refixing it back in the sink. Apart from these issues we had an excellent stay.
Friendly staff and very efficient too. Central location which suited us well. I was a little cold at night but should have asked for a blanket which I'm sure would have been provided. We have plans to stay in other Motel One in the future.
Excellent location to Old Town and Princess Street. Value for money Staff extremely helpful and courteous. Continental breakfast had good choices. Rooms clean and comfortable.
Overall a very nice modern and stylish hotel in an excellent location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely, relaxed bar area with reasonable prices for evening drinks. I was less impressed with using the same space and the low informal furniture for the buffet breakfast. We may have been unlucky but we arrived half way through breakfast service on our first day - 9am - and found very little left that we wanted to eat. We waited for staff to replenish but they didn’t. Therefore, a croissant (most of which ends up in your lap) and cup of poor coffee cost us almost £30. We went out for the £14.95 Breakfast Special at The Ivy in St Andrews Square on our second day. This is my only criticism of the hotel and i would certainly stay there again.

Very helpful, engaging staff at reception. Convenient area as you enter the building allowing for a relaxing social breakfast space. This Hotel is so central to the heart of Edinburgh and the railway station. Quiet comfortable rooms.
Motel One Royal is in excellent location, you literally can not beat it. Perfect for exploring the old and new town. Hotel itself is very well maintained, the room was really nice with comfortable bed and pillows. The staff at reception is very friendly and helpful. The motel was clean but the room was overrated. The receptionists where really friendly and lovely and I have nothing to say on the way how they make us feel welcome, keep up the good work! However I really felt that the priced payed for the room was way too much, the room was just ok, no window on the toilet and has the description I was expecting the viewing on the castle but I actually was seeing only the ferris wheel. The pillows on top of the one white one ( the blue one) where dirty and full of hair for 150£ I believe I could found much better than that.

Dit hotel heb ik vaker bezocht voor meerdere nachten. Altijd tot volle tevredenheid mbt locatie, service, medewerkers en faciliteiten. Het enige (persoonlijke) verbeterpuntje zijn de kussens op de bedden die ik niet gewoon niet comfortabel vind.

Ideale ligging, vriendelijk personeel, goed ontbijtbuffet. We hadden drie kamers geboekt ( 2 x 2 persoonskamer en 1x 1 persoonskamer). Beetje jammer dat de 1 persoonskamer groter was dan een van de 2 persoonskamers….
Locatie, kamerinrichting, decor, bed en beddengoed top. Maar op onze kamer was het veel te warm en hoorde je veel lawaai van buiten. Verder vonden wij het personeel niet erg vriendelijk. Geen goedendag, niet vragen hoe ons verblijf was geweest. Jammer, want alle andere Schotten hebben wij als heel vriendelijk ervaren. Ik zou dit hotel alleen aanraden voor de centrale ligging want die is echt geweldig.

Keurig hotel met mooie kamers. Op een mooie locatie. De ruimte bij het ontbijt is wat krap.

Een heerlijk hotel! Ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Fantastische locatie. Erg ruime kamer met een heerlijk bed. Mooi uitzicht. Enige minpuntje is dat er veel te weinig opbergruimte was. Ook in de badkamer nauwelijks ruimte om spullen neer te zetten. Terwijl de badkamer en de slaapkamer zelf heel ruim waren. Er was genoeg plek voor kasten, tafeltjes, plankjes, bijv. Maar we komen graag weer terug! :)
Locatie was top. We miste echter wel een koelkastje op de kamer en het ontbijt was wat summier voor de prijs die je er voor betaald. En ontbijt moest genuttigd worden in het bar en lounge gedeelte wat niet erg prettig is. We hebben een keer drankjes besteld aan de bar die moest ik zelf halen en twee keer lopen en achteraf werd er ook niet meer bij ons gecheckt of we nog wat wouden, deze service mag ook beter.
Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Schone kamers en alles wat je nodig hebt voor een prima verblijf.
De ligging was perfect. Personeel was vriendelijk. Kamer schoon en netjes. Ook de actie met het paasei waarvoor je een voucher in de bar kreeg vonden we heel leuk.
Badkamer schoon, maar hele erge rioollucht wat te ruiken is jin de kamer. Bij boeken konden wij geen ontbijt selecteren. Ter plaatse afgerekend, ontbijt is erg goed maar wel heeeel prijzig voor €18 per persoon. Daarmee kwam de kamer in totaal op z'n €180 per nacht, dat is te veel een prijs van €160 inclusief ontbijt zou passend zijn. Locatie zelf is geweldig gelegen en personeel behulpzaam. Dus goed gelegen hotel met wat verbeter puntjes.

Fijn ontvangst, goede service en zeer schone en nette kamer! Ontbijt was simpel, maar goed. Perfect hotel voor een paar dagen citytrip!
Het hotel heeft echt een geweldige locatie ten opzichte van alle bezienswaardigheden. Het ligt precies op de rand van Old en New Town. De kamers zijn ruim en gezellig ingericht. Indien wij weer een keer naar Edinburgh gaan, kiezen we zeker weer voor dit hotel.
De sfeer in het hotel is heel relax. De lobby is gezellig. De kamers zijn goed en schoon, bed is goed. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid en lekker, en er wordt constant versgebakken broodjes e.d. neergezet. Lokatie is perfect tussen Old en New town, vlakbij station, tram, taxi's. En het personeel is vriendelijk! Een tophotel!!! Alleen opletten om iedere dag de WiFi te bevestigen, dat blijft niet automatisch aan. En de luchtcirculatie in de badkamer kan ietsje beter, maar oke dat zijn maar kleine dingen.
Perfecte locatie en kwaliteit voor een redelijke prijs in het hart van Edinburgh.
Fijn hotel, ideaal gelegen om Edinburgh te ontdekken!
Zeer aangenaam en comfortabel verblijf in prachtig Edinburgh. Niet goedkoop en íets meer ruimte op de kamer was wel fijn geweest maar verder alles naar wens. Uitgebreid ontbijt (niet inbegrepen), comfortabele badkamer, elke dag schone handdoeken. Wel jammer dat je niet kunt streamen met een iPhone naar de tv. :)
Fantastische locatie, prima kamers en bedden, nette badkamers. Ik zou het echter fijn vinden om de keuze te hebben tussen twee losse bedden of in elk geval losse dekbedden. Slaapt fijner als je met vrienden/familie bent.
We hebben een top verblijf gehad bij Motel One. Vriendelijke medewerkers, schone kamer en uitgebreid ontbijt. Verder ligt het hotel heel centraal in Edinburgh, dus alles is makkelijk aan te lopen.

Hotel Edinburgh-Royal
In Motel One Edinburgh-Royal hebben wij voor jou onze spreekwoordelijke turkooizen loper uitgerold om je majestueus te ontvangen . Tegen het mooie decor van het historische stadcentrum van Edinburgh, dat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van de UNESCO staat, heten wij je welkom in ons historische pand met zijn bijzondere interieur. Hier wordt een koninklijke country style gecombineerd met de eenvoud en weidsheid van de Schotse Hooglanden. Het algemeen bekende turkoois krijgt nu gezelschap van heel veel groen. De decoratieve, botanische details en de met echte varens en mossen beplante achterwand van de receptie weerspiegelen de charme van het Schotse landschap in ons hotel. De fotograaf Thomas Effinger brengt de flora en fauna van Schotland natuurgetrouw in beeld. Zijn werken passen dan ook perfect binnen het designconcept van ons hotel. Vooral boven de bedden in de kamers van het Motel One Tartan komen de foto’s van de fotograaf prachtig tot hun recht.
Je ligt natuurlijk zoals gewoonlijk comfortabel in onze comfortabele boxspringbedden. En als je toch een keer niet in slaap kunt komen, ga dan eens schaapjes tellen: de schaapsculpturen van de kunstenares Marie Talalaeff sieren de muren van onze One Lounge. Liever een whisky dan schapen tellen of slapen? Onze bar heeft natuurlijk ook het een en ander te bieden. De flessen hebben niet alleen een praktisch doel, maar zijn ook prachtig om te zien. De lampenhemel boven de bar bestaat uit 50 decanteerkaraffen voor whisky en is een bijzondere blikvanger. Hoe laat je ook naar bed gaat, de volgende dag staat er een goed, uitgebreid ontbijt klaar, dat uitnodigt tot een koninklijke maaltijd.
Je koninklijke residentie in Edinburgh is gemakkelijk te voet bereikbaar vanuit het station Waverly of per bus vanuit Edinburgh Airport. Ons designhotel ligt op maar een paar zijstraten afstand van de beroemde Royal Mile en is dus heel centraal gelegen. Dankzij de korte afstanden is ons voordelige hotel de perfecte uitvalsbasis om de stad met al zijn bezienswaardigheden te gaan verkennen. Slenter over de Royal Mile, shop in het Edinburgh City Centre of duik in de geschiedenis van het land in het Nationale Museum van Schotland. Ook de botanische tuin, Princes Street, het Scott Monument en het John Knox House liggen op wandelafstand. In de onmiddellijke omgeving van ons hotel vind je ook talrijke pubs, restaurants en cafés. Wil je graag de natuur in, maar blijf je niet lang genoeg in Edinburgh om naar de Hooglanden te gaan, dan is een bezoek aan Arthur’s Seat in het Holyrood Park de moeite waard. Vanaf de plaatselijke berg van Edinburgh heb je een indrukwekkend uitzicht op de stad zelf, Edinburgh Castle en het Calton Hill. Of breng een bezoekje aan een whiskydestilleerderij in de omgeving en proef van Schotland in de waarste zin van het woord. Dus proost - of zoals de Schotten het zeggen: “Slàinte mhath!"
