As a customer who has booked about 3/4 stays in motel one per year over the last 10 years through either booking.com or direct with motel one website , I feel that some standards have slightly dropped over the last year. This still is and will be my go to hotel stay when in Newcastle, however being grilled for a name, room number and my wife’s name at midnight while I have my door entry key card in my hand as if we are trying to sneak into a party is not ideal. We had 4 couples staying at the motel all aged between 57 to 67 so not looking to go to a room and party. I was in room 555 water pressure very poor had to fix the shower head myself to stop it leaking. Although staying in the hotel from Thursday to Sunday the non existent view from our window was onto a plain wall I would have thought because of using the room for 4 days a more appealing view might be considered for longer stay customers. I would hope this was not as good an experience as a one off as I always normally really enjoy my stay with you. Please take this as constructive criticism as I mentioned this is the first time in numerous stays that I have been dissatisfied with my stay. Regards Tony Grenfell
Check in not great. We had requested a twin room on booking.com. She said you only had 5 I think and all were gone was that ok. As too ladies I said not ideal and what other options are there and we were told in quite a snippy manor we could pay for a 2nd room. I said that wasn't really an option and it was a take it or leave it attitude. I appreciate from what the lady said Booking.com only reserved a standard but it was the way it was handled that I felt was a little harsh. hence the mark down. Also it was like getting through the gestapo trying to get in at night. Even though you have a room key you have to wait in line for a guy to check you off the list, Everyone queuing was 50-70 years old so hardly young party animals. Felt a bit OTT On the plus it is a lovely central hotel. Very clean and tidy and a super comfy bed.
Great hotel in a fantastic location.
The room was comfortable and had a view over the city. Bathroom and shower was fine. The room was quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. I can't comment on the bar or breakfast as we didn't use either. The bathroom would have scored a 9 but the shower ran cool mid shower. We booked online via the hotel website.
The room was cold, the air conditioner almost did no difference
The staff were so helpful from the minute I checked in, to the minute I left... wonderful stay, with great staff.
What a lovely hotel. Really good price and rooms are very clean and modern with everything you need for a short stay. I didn't include breakfast so can't comment on that but everything else was very good.

A lovely hotel, room wasnt the largest, but none the less it was clean and tidy and the location is spot on.
As ever, a great stay. Convenient city centre location, friendly welcome, a well-appointed room, a comfortable bed and an undisturbed night's sleep. All at a reasonable price. Thoroughly recommend.
The Hotel was very welcoming as were the staff. My room was excellent and very well presented. The only reason I have not given a 10 score is the expected use of plastic mugs to drink tea and coffee which were stained and not nice at all and let the whole place down. Also my room was a little cold despite turning the thermostat up and the free wifi was unprotected.

Excelente servicio, atención y ubicación. Por poner algún punto de mejora, se podría ofrecer en el desayuno alguna opción más de comida caliente. Perfecta la opción de enchufe continental europeo, para los despistes de adaptador. Dejo un 9 porque siempre hay algo que mejorar.
The girl on reception was rude. The heating didn’t work very well in the room and the cups were plastic

Really enjoyed our recent stay at Motel One Newcastle. It's a really lovely hotel, with friendly staff and a beautiful reception and bar area. The location was perfect for shopping with lots of choice for restaurants and bars within walking distance too. Although the bedrooms are compact they are well designed and for the price we paid, it was an absolute bargain! Would definitely stay here again for any future visits to the fabulous city of Newcastle.
First thing is, the reception is always warm & friendly at Motel One 💗 Loved my room - thanks Rachel 🙏 Big comfortable bed, great shower, lovely toiletries, peace & quiet and a late check out ! It's my favourite place to stay !
I would have given 10 but there was no hot water for a shower on the morning
Extremely helpful and friendly reception. The bed cover (to my mind) was set too far from the top of the bed. The top of the cover came only to my waist whereas I think most people would like their shoulders covered. Not wishing to get out and remake the bed I slept with pillow half way down the bed. Which was fine. I had a good night's sleep. But maybe something to take on board?
Excellent building, clean and contemporary. Room clean and comfortable. En-suite clean and contemporary Receptionist welcoming. Bar staff very accommodating but only person to man bar and make toasties in another location meant other customers were waiting to be served at the bar. Breakfast was good. Option for 2 single beds would be good in rooms.
This is our 4th time at the newcastle motel hotel, every visit, has been excellent, from walking in to leaving the staff are excellent, hotel is in central area, which is perfect for getting around easily..
It was okay overall, but the price on Saturdays feels too high for what’s offered. I wouldn’t mind paying more if the hotel included additional luxuries like a bathtub or a minibar. As it stands, it seems overpriced compared to other hotels by the river that offer better views for the same rate. I might stay again during the week, but for a Saturday visit, it just doesn’t feel worth the extra cost.
Good room for what we needed for our 2 night stay. Im not sure on cleanliness but seemed clean apart from a used paper cup with coke in at the side of the bed. The hot water for the shower lasted long enough for me to wet my body then went cold unfortunately. Otherwise, great motel and great location central to everything we needed. Staff were polite and efficient too.
Booked a room with a view, didn't get it , , reception staff didnt seem bothered. If you book a room with a view, you should get a room with a view or be offered some financial compensation. TV channels were limited, no option to link to streaming services. Location was excellent, nice interior design in the communal areas

Great hotel and friendly staff. Comfortable bed. The only downside was that even though I was on the second floor the noise from outside disturbed me throughout the night, even with the window closed. Air circulation didn't appear to be working which meant the room got very stuffy when the window was closed.
My second stay at Newcastle - staff helpful, friendly and polite. Room was clean and had everything I needed, wifi is good and so is the breakfast. A good value stay in a great City.

All good except the pillows... they're a nightmare! One day i had no hot water in the morning (room 222).
Room was far too hot and the city view was average at best . Also continental breakfast was lovely but would prefer a cooked breakfast . Plus sides staff pleasant , lounge and bar area lovely and cocktails were beautiful .
The immediate view upon entering is beautiful a very kept and clean building. Staff friendly and polite. Bar is expensive. Room is just as well as kept and clean as downstairs only issue I had was the sides to bed are too close to the bed as I smacked the top of my head against one of the corners

Always a pleasure to stay at Motel One Newcastle, the only downside I have is only one toasting machine at breakfast, the queue was 3 long when I joined, gave up. Apart from that, everything was lovely!

Schönes, sauberes Hotel mit freundlichem Personal. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Kleine Kritikpunkte: Einchecken hat etwas lange gedauert. Ein Arbeiten auf den Tisch mit Hocker ist anstrengend.
Zentral. Sehr sauber. Freundliches Personal. Zimmer war ein bisschen kalt. Hat gedauert bis ich die Klima verstanden haben.
Wie immer alles super, Zimmer, Frühstück, Service Wir waren mit dem Rad unterwegs. Auch dafür wurde gut gesorgt.
Ordentlich, sauber, praktisch wie immer. Großartig der wasserkocher, denich mir überall wünschen würde.

Toller, besonders freundlicher und flexibler Service! Besonders hat mir gefallen, dass Motelone in Newcastle mal in einem historischen Gebäude untergebracht ist.
Das Hotel ist fantastisch. Nur freundliche Mitarbeiter, sehr sauberes Haus, modern und trotzdem warme Atmosphäre. Und das zu einem unschlagbaren Preis.
Sehr sauber, gemütliche Betten, zentrale Lage. Ablageflächen an den Betten ausbaufähig, Wasserdruck in der Dusche unzureichend.
Personal sehr freundlich und Zimmer schön groß. Leider keine Steckdose im Bad und ein Aufzug war kaputt deshalb gab es sehr lange Wartezeiten um runter und hoch zu kommen
Sehr schönes Motel, teilweise noch im alten Gebäude - relativ zentral zur Central Station von Newcastle - rund 10 Minuten zu Fuss. Standard gemäss von Motel One gewohnt - schöne Bar resp. Lounge - sehr ruhiges Quartier.
Alles wunderbar. Sehr nettes Personal. Sehr bequemes Bett. Zimmer klein, aber ausreichend für eine Person. Tolles Frühstück.
