We stayed at Motel One for my birthday in room 643 and had a lovely visit. The staff made the occasion special with a birthday card and sweets arranged on the bed — such a thoughtful gesture! The location is excellent for exploring the area, and breakfast was a highlight with fresh food and fantastic coffee. The room was small and compact with limited storage, but very comfortable and with great air conditioning. We had requested a view but ended up with a side view of a building, and one bathroom light above the sink wasn’t working. An extra bin in the room would also be useful. Overall, a stylish hotel with great service and lovely touches that made our stay memorable.
Lovely staff and very good price. I think they may not have quite enough staff working there though as they seemed rather rushed off their feet which made checking in rather slow. Nice looking place, good facilities, very happy with the room.
Lovely location, staff were really friendly and 12pm checkout was perfect. The pillows were amazing.

Always enjoy staying here, the location is great and the staff are friendly. The hotel and rooms are starting to look tired and could use a paint and upgraded amenities but the rooms are clean.

Staff were very friendly, rooms were very clean but for me the bed was far too soft and a bit of a smell from drain in shower. I would stay here again though.
Breakfast cleanliness and location were all excellent. All staff with one exception were great. Did have a couple of hiccups with the water supply but mostly sorted. Despite this would stay again.

I stayed at Motel One for nearly 2 weeks, extending each day as I never knew how long I needed to stay in Newcastle. It is a great find and I have recommended to colleagues, one of which also booked next week. Great central location, lovely comfortable beds, breakfast is delicious + healthy but most of all the staff are great. Sorry I can't mention them by name but particularly Jostin in reception was very helpfu; when I struggled with your website when booking. Also, the other reception staff, the 2 Spanish staff working the breakfast buffet plus the lovely bar tenders, Francesco and his colleague.. I am sometimes in Munich and shall be sure to use this hotel group there too :)

Our stay at Motel one was comfortable and we were very impressed up till approximately 8am on the morning when we were awoken to the loud sound of drilling. This continues for well over an hour. I tried contacting reception by phone to no avail and eventually went down to speak with somebody to be told it was ‘planned maintenance’. If this was in fact the case this maintenance should have been passed to guests at the time of booking in. We specifically asked for a quiet room as my partner has a sleeping disorder sadly it was far from quiet. Posters were then put around the hotel apologising for the noise which to be honest was far to late

Excellent central location. Friendly and fast check in. Bright, modern and well designed decoration. Lots off public spaces to relax in. Biggest TV I have ever had in a hotel but limited amount of channels to watch.
Another fantastic stay at Motel One Newcastle, and Rachel on the check-in desk was very friendly and helpful when I arrived. I did ask later on with a different member of staff for an iron & ironing board to be taken to my room while I was out but he said he couldn't do it as he was on his own, however there were several staff members walking round the hotel who perhaps could have done it when they had chance, so that was a bit disappointing. I've worked in hospitality so I've had to take things to rooms in the past, rather than make guests carry hotel equipment by themselves while they're on a relaxing stay.

Great find and I'm booking this hotel again next week for the whole week. It's very centrally located, clean, wifi is perfect, has a bar and the breakfast superb. Has everything for a business trip. Ticks all the boxes. If I must be picky, I would say it would be nice to have some bottled water in the room, or even a mini fridge but it's not a deal breaker. I'm still booking this coming week.
I recently stayed three nights at Motel One Newcastle and overall had a very positive experience. The hotel is centrally located yet surprisingly quiet, with a stylish interior and friendly, helpful staff. There’s a lovely bar with an outdoor terrace, and the breakfast was excellent—well presented and plentiful. The breakfast team clearly put a lot of effort into making guests feel welcome. My room (318) was comfortable and quiet, though relatively basic by Motel One standards. I noticed the signature blue cushions were missing, and there was no in-room safe. However, tea and coffee facilities were provided, and the bed and pillows were exceptionally good. The room and hotel were very clean, with one unfortunate exception: the toilet in my bathroom had clearly not been cleaned properly. There were visible traces from previous guests both inside and around the toilet bowl, as well as on the toilet brush, holder, and surrounding areas like the wall and floor. I initially chose to clean the toilet myself, but reported it to reception the next morning. The receptionist was very apologetic and said housekeeping would be informed straight away. However, when I returned at 4:15pm, the room still hadn’t been cleaned. I mentioned it again at reception and once more received very sincere apologies. Housekeeping came immediately, and I was offered a complimentary drink from the bar while I waited. After about 15 minutes, I was able to return to the room. The next day, when I came back in the afternoon, it was clear that the room had been thoroughly cleaned. A note was left by (I believe) someone named Emma to confirm that the cleaning had been done. I’m a big fan of Motel One, and despite this hiccup, I would definitely stay here again when visiting Newcastle. Mistakes can happen—what matters most is how they’re handled, and I really appreciated the staff’s friendly and solution-focused approach.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in every way! Friendly staff, excellent facilities, tasteful and comfortable decor. My room was excellent apart from the pillows that were too heavy and clumpy.
We had a lovely stay at Motel One. We really liked the location and the hotel was extremely clean and fresh. Although we had a good stay we did unfortunately have a couple of issues mostly in regards to safety. Somebody else was checked in, given a key to our room and walked into our room while we were inside sleeping. We were told this was a computer issue which is fine but did make me feel a little uncomfortable about the safety of our stuff while we were out the room. We were given some drinks tokens to compensate this which we did appreciate. Also, several times we went to go to our room and found neither of our keys were working and had to go down to reception and get them re-programmed. Most of the staff we encountered were lovely, friendly and welcoming. In particular the young man working behind the bar at night. All in all we, despite our small concerns we would definitely return and stay at Motel One Newcastle again.
Excellent service, beautiful hotel, super comfy beds. It was more than perfect for our overnight stay right in centre of the city. We checked in early which was great and the wonderful staff had left a lovely birthday card & 40 written in mints on the bed, such a nice touch. We would 100% book here again.
The staff were lovely very pleasant and friendly. Lovely clean room the only negative I had was the shower. as much as we tried to get water through the full head we only managed to get it to come out of the 3 holes in the middle. Overall a lovely stay

Ha sido una experiencia muy acogedora. Si vuelvo a Newcastle, seréis una de mis primeras opciones para repetir. Carla, la chica responsable del desayuno la mañana que pude desayunar allí, fue muy atenta, amable y encantadora...Motel One tiene suerte de contar con un capital humano de esta valía.

No es adecuado para una estadía larga (1 semana o más), y especialmente para viajes de trabajo. El baño tenía fritas en el suelo y se ve que hay una pérdida. El editado de almacenamiento es muy limitado. Hay que pedir plancha en la recepción y una vez que uno la tiene no hay espacio donde dejarla. No hay lugar para poner la maleta. No hay ni una heladera pequeña o frigobar. No hay servicio de lavandería, que es fundamental para un viaje de trabajo largo.

Nuestro Motel One Newcastle en el corazón de la ciudad está caracterizado por el encanto del ladrillo visto: el estilo industrial de las auténticas fachadas de ladrillo recuerdan a la historia de esta ciudad obrera. En el interior, los puentes del río Tyne marcan el tema determinante de la decoración y el diseño; el estiloso bar con su imagen industrial rinde homenaje al trabajo del inventor del Rocket (cohete) como se conocía a la locomotora de vapor inventada por Robert Stephenson. Muebles de Baxter en cuero auténtico y alfombras de gran valor de Jan Kath completan el estilo industrial. No se trata precisamente de una casualidad que el papel a rayas de la pared que decora la recepción aporte el inconfundible estilo británico y que además recuerde a las camisetas del Newcastle United. Su ubicación en el centro histórico es idónea para el estilo industrial moderno de nuestro económico hotel de diseño. Lugares emblemáticos como el Theatre Royal, el Grey’s Monument y el ayuntamiento de Newscastle están a muy pocos metros. También resulta muy práctica la cercanía a la estación central y al aeropuerto.
