I stayed at the motel one in Edinburgh 2 times and each time it was wonderful. It is not a “motel” by the American definition of a motel. It is a boutique hotel. It is very well located and walking distance to everything. The rooms are not large but I have stayed in much smaller. The bathrooms are modern. Do not be skeptical when you first arrive. The lobby is located on the second level. This is where they serve breakfast as well you can get a drink or coffee and relax in comfortable chairs at the end of your evening (or anytime ). The lobby is staffed 24 hours. The entrance is locked after 9 pm allowing only guests with keys to enter. The night of Hogmanay they had a security guard located at the entrance which was fantastic. I would say it is really in the best location if you plan to stay there for Hogmanay. A shout out to Thea she was so accommodating. I wish I knew all the staff names bc everyone was lovely.
Very nice hotel with a nice feeling. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is good. Location is excelllent. Some of the rooms dont have any hangers, that is the drawback I can mention.
Sehr schönes Hotel mit guter Lage. Zimmer sauber, Frühstück sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Am dritten Abend hatten wir leider kein Wasser im Zimmer und mussten nach längerer Wartezeit in ein anderes Zimmer umziehen. Dieses war sehr heiß, nicht zu lüften (nur kleines, nicht zu öffnendes Dachfenster) und sehr hellhörig, sodass wir kaum schlafen konnten. Da unsere Abreise früh am Morgen war, konnten wir das Problem nicht mehr reklamieren. Insgesamt aber ein angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Hotel was lovely bar area much more modern than everywhere else. The room 420 was far too hotel and the ac did t work when I reported this first thing in the morning I was it's not ac more a ventilation unit and the 4th floor is really hot compared to the others. If I had been told this I would have asked for another floor as we got about 3 hours sleep due to being too hot.
I cannot remember how many times I have stayed at Edinburgh Motel One (a lot), and have always felt most welcome. Friendly and helpful staff and spotlessly clean rooms! Location cannot be beaten - close to Waverley station, Princes Street and the Royal Mile! What more can anyone wish for! Highly recommended and I will be back!

The location was incredible and the staff were very friendly, the room just felt a little unclean and we noticed in our room a buildup of dust in the corner of the carpet which was a little unsettling.

Have always liked the look of the hotel and we weren't disappointed. Rooms are a good size. We arrived on the 13.1.26 for 2 nights and the price was reasonable. Would go back again at that time of year.

The accommodation is perfect - the room is cosy and well equipped, the check-in is easy and we got chance to leave our luggage ahead of checking in. The Edinburgh Motel is so central - it’s always such a relief to get a room there.

Motel One, no matter in which city, never lets me down. From booking to departure the experience is first class. Check-in is friendly, helpful and professional, rooms are spotlessly clean - superb roomy hot shower - I always have an excellent night’s sleep and appreciate the quality bedding. Motel Ones locations are perfectly central and the fact that you can leave your luggage is an asset. The bars have a relaxed atmosphere and snacks and drinks available are sufficient to suppress any hunger pangs. Motel One is always value for money,Thank you once again. If I had to have one request it would be please can you have some herbal teabags available in the rooms eg. Peppermint/camomile.

This was the perfect place for our quick trip to Edinburgh. The location is unbeatable - a short walk from the train station and an excellent jumping off point for our activities. The room was clean and comfortable and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend!
Great location and value for money. Room was quite cold but this was sorted so quickly by staff and they gave us a heater to use if we wanted extra heat as there was no heat in the bathroom.
The hotel staff was kind and helpful and the hotel premises are great! I would just have enjoyed a less firm mattress (I stayed in Motel 1 in Hamburg and their mattress was just perfect) and at least another option of eggs in breakfast, like fried or scrambled. Other than that everything was amazing!
We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect location for train st to quickly collect your luggage before a late journey home. It delivers more than a budget hotel. Did not have breakfast so can’t comment. Have stayed before & will return again.

Motel One Edinburgh-Royal was the perfect base for our trip to Edinburgh. The hotel was located right next to the Christmas markets and close to the Royal Mile. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and there was a nice atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the city.

Prima hotel, in het centrum van de stad met vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel en een goed ontbijt. Wat een mooi begin van elke dag van onze stedentrip!
Stayed at the hotel 8th- 10th January.This is our 3rd stay at the hotel and have always found the staff welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom modern. We like that their is a sitting area offering drinks coffee and snacks. We like the location so near to The Royal Mile , Castle and also Princess Street
Wonderful location! Helpful staff - assisted us with stowing our luggage as we arrived significantly before check-in. Breakfast at the restaurant was also very good.

We stayed from January 6–9 and had a very comfortable experience. The place was cozy and had everything we needed. The room and facilities were clean, and the staff were polite, friendly, and always cheerful. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back

J y ai passé 5 nuits cette semaine et c était génial , l accueil du personnel est +++ Très aimable et rendant service , au petit soin de leurs clients , chambre plus grande que ce que je pensais sur les photos , très propre Coin bureau avec du café ou du thé à dispo Petit déjeuner complet ; British ou français selon votre choix , je recommande cet hôtel car en plus le prix est très très abordable ☺️

Es war, nach dem Aufenthalte Sylvester 2024, bereits unser zweiter Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Die nette und ungezwungene Atmosphäre, sowie die freundlichen Mitarbeiter/-innen haben uns erneut sehr gut gefallen. Die Lage des Hotels gefällt uns auch sehr gut. Als Anregung ist lediglich der Durchzug in der Lobby zu nennen, der bei jedem Öffnen der Haupteingangstür entsteht.
Wir hatten im Januar das Vergnügen für erfreuliche 75 £ dort zu wohnen und genossen die zentrale Lage, den Blick auf die Altstadt und vor allen Dingen das großartige Pub genau gegenüber.
