Comfortable rooms with limited equipment, nice shower area, bad area for breakfast, excellent location
Excellent location in the heart of the city, nice rooms, competitive rates, lovely rooms and very good, attentive, and friendly staff. It is the only hotel I choose when I come to visit my hometown
A nice hotel in the middle of the city. Clean and quiet. Good breakfast.
Reception kindly allowed us to check in early when we arrived from the airport. The staff was unfailingly kind and helpful in answering my questions and helping me navigate transportation.
I had two things which made my stay uncomfortable, even though the hotel itself was good: -cushion: 2 huge cushions that are not suitable to sleep on (at least one should have been flatter) -too cold: in my room it was extremely cold even though I put the air conditioner to 25 celsius. The heating system was probably shut down completely. That's why it was not really comfortable to stay in the room.

Very well located. Fantastic to get this public transport card for free, I loved it. Daniel is great. Unfortunately, it was really really hot in the room and there was no air coming from the AC. I had to open the window but it was too noisy. Bad night sleep.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Nice, clean room. I do think the room could use more "surfaces" where guests can put things like makeup bags etc.
Centrally located in Basel so a bit noisier that some other properties. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, etc. Conveniently located on the tram line with rapid access to everywhere including the airport.
There was no option to open the window because they were within a New Yorker showroom. The AC was not working, and in a super small room, it was almost impossible to get any fresh air circulating. Some guests were opening the door to the hallway, which makes the Motel a youth hostel.
Staff were fantastic. Very friendly. Special mention of David on the night shift. Rooms were too stuffy. Unable to open a window for any fresh air.

top location, best position in town
I had paid for my room in advance. I didn't arrive until the night. Upon arrival, it turned out that my room had been canceled anyway and they did not immediately find confirmation of my payment. Fortunately, there was another room available and the problem could be solved.
Nice and peaceful, well located, very safe. I wish the room had a mini fridge and kettle/microwave.
such kind "mitarbeiters!" so welcoming! My room 4th floor was so quiet. Everything so clean and bed was great. The location is fantastic. In the heart of the city and close to Trams and EVERYTHING! I could walk home from the theater late at night and felt safe. A wonderful visit. Thank you!!!

A great no frills, but super comfortable formula. Beautifully situated, nicely run hotel, Motel One is just what we needed for a convenient and pleasant stay in Basel.

Needed a place to stay in Basel. Hotel was at a great location, room great for me as I just needed a place to sleep. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The espresso in the lounge is really quite excellent.
Friendly personnel. When arriving and the next morning the room 540 was really cool. It got better around noon.
Nice location once you find it driving in. Left one Motel One to reach this one. Disappointed that a bottle of water was not offered on check in, only realised later it is typical of Motel one. Staffing in the evening was questionable, I realise it is a holiday week, but a minimum, knowledgeable staff should be present, especially for the bar area where I saw revenue walking away.
Having a Christmas Market right outside the lobby door made this location amazing! We had spent the previous week on a Rhine River cruise, but I was able to spend more time at this Christmas Market than any of the others we visited. I would have appreciated the ability to get a light breakfast here (coffee and a croissant).

It's a pleasant, lively hotel with fair pricing. Clean rooms, good windows that keep noise from street out. A good place to be and enjoy the town.
This was the fourth time we came to Basel and stayed at Motel One. Always a good place to be, like home away from home…
Overall positive, 2 remarks only: - just 1 towel for the shower is not enough. At list 2 are necessary, better a bathrobe. - pillows: a lot but all very tall. I needed 1 very flat for my cervical.
Perfect convenient location. Bar was great! Lobby was cozy, the fact that the Christmas market was right outside your door, 100%.
I loved the location being so central to the Christmas Markets and public transportation. As an American (US) we tend to like hot breakfast, scrambled eggs, sausage, etcetera, so the cold breakfast wasn't quite what I expected. No fault of your own as when in Switzerland I should expect to eat as a local. Your team was very friendly, and your rooms were very clean. I also loved having the balcony.

Loved the hotel! How hardly anything to say bad about it. Great location, clean, super friendly staff and love the gin bar! My only complaint would be so minor and that would be to maybe have a couple more amenities in the room like lotion and conditioner although I think this is why the price is right.
Amazing spot for the Christmas markets in Basel. The team were really friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. I would definitely recommend booking there, the location is ideal.

My room was very small whereas my colleagues were given bigger rooms with room purifiers. Didn’t really like the way I was treated. Anyways it’s okay!!
I had an excellent experience at Motel One and am glad I chose to stay there rather than at any of the conference hotels. The location was not only scenic (next to the Basel history museum), but extremely convenient with the tram stop just outside the door. Excellent value for money.

Der mangler elkedel til kaffe og te på værelserne. Papkrus på badeværelset ok, men hellere et rigtig glas. Vi havde to ophold med forskellige værelser. Det ene havde kun en smal hylde til tøj mv.
