Our stay at Motel one was comfortable and we were very impressed up till approximately 8am on the morning when we were awoken to the loud sound of drilling. This continues for well over an hour. I tried contacting reception by phone to no avail and eventually went down to speak with somebody to be told it was ‘planned maintenance’. If this was in fact the case this maintenance should have been passed to guests at the time of booking in. We specifically asked for a quiet room as my partner has a sleeping disorder sadly it was far from quiet. Posters were then put around the hotel apologising for the noise which to be honest was far to late

Nice two day visit. Great location, friendly staff. Room did not have much storage space for clothing or other items but ok for a one or two night visit.

Excellent central location. Friendly and fast check in. Bright, modern and well designed decoration. Lots off public spaces to relax in. Biggest TV I have ever had in a hotel but limited amount of channels to watch.
Another fantastic stay at Motel One Newcastle, and Rachel on the check-in desk was very friendly and helpful when I arrived. I did ask later on with a different member of staff for an iron & ironing board to be taken to my room while I was out but he said he couldn't do it as he was on his own, however there were several staff members walking round the hotel who perhaps could have done it when they had chance, so that was a bit disappointing. I've worked in hospitality so I've had to take things to rooms in the past, rather than make guests carry hotel equipment by themselves while they're on a relaxing stay.

Great find and I'm booking this hotel again next week for the whole week. It's very centrally located, clean, wifi is perfect, has a bar and the breakfast superb. Has everything for a business trip. Ticks all the boxes. If I must be picky, I would say it would be nice to have some bottled water in the room, or even a mini fridge but it's not a deal breaker. I'm still booking this coming week.
I recently stayed three nights at Motel One Newcastle and overall had a very positive experience. The hotel is centrally located yet surprisingly quiet, with a stylish interior and friendly, helpful staff. There’s a lovely bar with an outdoor terrace, and the breakfast was excellent—well presented and plentiful. The breakfast team clearly put a lot of effort into making guests feel welcome. My room (318) was comfortable and quiet, though relatively basic by Motel One standards. I noticed the signature blue cushions were missing, and there was no in-room safe. However, tea and coffee facilities were provided, and the bed and pillows were exceptionally good. The room and hotel were very clean, with one unfortunate exception: the toilet in my bathroom had clearly not been cleaned properly. There were visible traces from previous guests both inside and around the toilet bowl, as well as on the toilet brush, holder, and surrounding areas like the wall and floor. I initially chose to clean the toilet myself, but reported it to reception the next morning. The receptionist was very apologetic and said housekeeping would be informed straight away. However, when I returned at 4:15pm, the room still hadn’t been cleaned. I mentioned it again at reception and once more received very sincere apologies. Housekeeping came immediately, and I was offered a complimentary drink from the bar while I waited. After about 15 minutes, I was able to return to the room. The next day, when I came back in the afternoon, it was clear that the room had been thoroughly cleaned. A note was left by (I believe) someone named Emma to confirm that the cleaning had been done. I’m a big fan of Motel One, and despite this hiccup, I would definitely stay here again when visiting Newcastle. Mistakes can happen—what matters most is how they’re handled, and I really appreciated the staff’s friendly and solution-focused approach.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in every way! Friendly staff, excellent facilities, tasteful and comfortable decor. My room was excellent apart from the pillows that were too heavy and clumpy.
We had a lovely stay at Motel One. We really liked the location and the hotel was extremely clean and fresh. Although we had a good stay we did unfortunately have a couple of issues mostly in regards to safety. Somebody else was checked in, given a key to our room and walked into our room while we were inside sleeping. We were told this was a computer issue which is fine but did make me feel a little uncomfortable about the safety of our stuff while we were out the room. We were given some drinks tokens to compensate this which we did appreciate. Also, several times we went to go to our room and found neither of our keys were working and had to go down to reception and get them re-programmed. Most of the staff we encountered were lovely, friendly and welcoming. In particular the young man working behind the bar at night. All in all we, despite our small concerns we would definitely return and stay at Motel One Newcastle again.
Excellent service, beautiful hotel, super comfy beds. It was more than perfect for our overnight stay right in centre of the city. We checked in early which was great and the wonderful staff had left a lovely birthday card & 40 written in mints on the bed, such a nice touch. We would 100% book here again.
The staff were lovely very pleasant and friendly. Lovely clean room the only negative I had was the shower. as much as we tried to get water through the full head we only managed to get it to come out of the 3 holes in the middle. Overall a lovely stay

We vonden de service erg goed, het personeel was erg vriendelijk en meedenkend. We mochten zelfs onze fietsen en bagage voor een paar dagen achterlaten op een veilige plek en verder een mooie en praktisch ingerichte kamer en alles was erg netjes

Disappointed with breakfast. Would have liked choice of warm food. Bedroom quite roomy but did not have particularly good sleep on any of 4 night stay. Sorry for negative report but believe to report as I find.
De kamer was zeer slecht te ventileren, alleen een ventilator. Het raam kon nauwelijks open en er was geen airco. Bij aankomst was er ook niet goed gestofzuigd. Later was de schoonmaak oké.
Mooi motel, vriendelijk personeel. Enige minpunt kamers waren erg warm, de laatste dag hebben we een ventilator gekregen dat scheelde enorm.
Erg onvriendelijk receptioniste die niet meedenken was om een grote groep met eigen kamerindeling te accommoderen.

5e keer dat ik hier heb overnacht. Hotel ligt midden in het centrum en is zeer netjes met goede bedden. Personeel is vriendelijk. Ontbijt is het enige waar ik negatief over kan zijn, dit omdat de keuze zeer beperkt is.
Ruime kamers met alles wat je nodig hebt. Weinig lawaai door de weeks en super vriendelijke bediening. Matrassen zijn helaas oud en doorgezakt.

Goede kamer met raam dat geopend kan worden, prima ontbijt, vriendelijk personeel en erg goede service.
Nette kamer, in ochtend gewekt door brandalarm, wat later vals bleek , maar wel zeker 20 minuten aanhield. Geen uitleg bij de receptie of excuses, jammer.
Comfortabel hotel met goede centrale ligging. Vriendelijk personeel. Goed ontbijt. We hadden een kamer op de 6e etage. Deze kamer was schoon en netjes. Echter onplezierig warm. Temperatuur was niet te reguleren met de airco.
Hier al enkele keren geboekt. Prima kamers, maar wat aan de krappe kant, vooral als je de overdaad aan aan kussens ergens kwijt wilt. Prima bed, echter zo strak opgemaakt dat als je eenmaal onder het dekbed ligt en het wat meer naar je toe wilt trekken er geen beweging in te krijgen is. Je moet dan echt weer uit bed om het dekbed vooral aan het voeteneinde met geweld los te krijgen.Prima badkamer en TV. Ook ontbijt prima en ruim voldoende.
Mooi stijlvol hotel midden in de stad aan een rustig straatje en tussen de gezellige bars, pubs en reataurants. Bijna alle bezienswaardigheden van Newcastle op loopafstand. Prettige ontvangst en gastvrij personeel. Geen gebruik gemaakt van de bar en weinig vegan opties voor het ontbijt, vandaar de wat lagere rating maar het is voor het overige prima verzorgd. Leuk detail is dat er gebruik gemaakt wordt van locale producten. Een prima hotel tegen een heel gunstige prijs!

Vriendelijke ontvangst bij de receptie. Mooie, ruime, schone kamer. Kingsize bed was heerlijk! Badkamer modern en strak en schoon. Luxe lounge, fijne fauteuils om in plaats te nemen. Het hotel is gesitueerd midden in het centrum van de stad. Toch geen herrie van buiten gehoord.

Ons Motel One Newcastle in het hartje van de stad heeft met zijn onafgewerkte bakstenen muren iets charmants. De industriële stijl van de authentieke bakstenengevel herinnert aan de geschiedenis van de arbeidersstad. Aan de binnenkant zijn de bruggen over de Tyne in het design verwerkt en de stijlvolle bar in de industriële look brengt ere aan Robert Stephenson, de uitvinder van The Rocket zoals de stoomlocomotief ook wel eens wordt genoemd. Meubels in echt leder van Baxter en hoogwaardige tapijten van Jan Kath maken de industriële look helemaal af. Verfijnde details zoals stoelen van Arketipo met een opvallend stalen frame of de spiegelkast met whiskeykaraffen geven het interieur een charmante touch.
Dat de gestreepte behang aan de receptie niet alleen heel erg Brits ogen maar ook het beeld van de truitjes van Newcastle United oproepen, is natuurlijk geen toeval. Ook de ligging in het historische centrum past geheel in de industrieel-moderne stijl van ons voordelige Design Hotel. Bezienswaardigheden zoals het Theatre Royal, het Grey’s Monument en het stadhuis van Newcastle liggen op een steenworp van het hotel. Ook heel handig is het feit dat het Centraal Station en de luchthaven goed bereikbaar zijn.
Boek nu een kamer in ons voordelige Design Hotel en ervaar het designcontrast tussen de 'oude' industrie en het 'nieuwe' moderne karakter van de stad.
