Very nice venue. Classy and comfortable
I loved my stay. Everybody was friendly and helpful. I had the best view ever towards the festival grounds and the bathroom and bed were absolutely wonderful. Especially the pillows. I like the no service option to not unnecessarily waist resources. The breakfast buffet was great and even good pricing for a only breakfast guest. The only criticism is quite personal, the breakfast aerea was overwhelmed with a full hotel. I guess it's normally more of a business hotel and not so crowded al lat once but the low coffee tables and big chairs while looking nice are not realy made for a breakfast, more for the kittle coffee. And the real tables on the windows could not take all the guests.

Heel vriendelijke ontvangst, lekker ontbijt, mooie kamer. Een absoluut positief punt is de geweldige isolatie. Er was op de Domplatz een openluchtconcert van één of andere Duitse band maar in mijn kamer was daar niets van te horen. Top gewoonweg

Overall good Breakfast eggs inadequate, half cooked only, no scrambled eggs. For 18,50€ one could have expected a bit more.

It's a nice hotel, and there are no surprises if one is familiar with the MotelOne concept. I was travelling alone, and everything was fine to excellent. I can recommend this hotel, and it will be my first choice when visiting Magdeburg again.
The room was just way too small. No space to put anything, not to mention suitcases. 2 people can't even move freely in one room. Breakfast was simple and sufficient, but over priced.
In general it was a nice stay, but the breakfast was a little bit poor.

The location, room, and value were very good and we would choose Motel One Magdeburg again. However, the purchased self-serve breakfast was insufficient for the price charged.
Mooi hotel in een prachtig oud pand, mooi gelegen in het stadscentrum. Schone goede kamers. Minpunt vind ik dat er geen laadpunten zijn voor stekker auto’s.
Very friendly teams and very nice hospitatlity
I stayed in an odd wing of the building, next to the reception's door. Room felt very un-cosy because it's big yet very sparsely furnished - a bigger desk, a proper chair, a larger armchair, bedside lamps that are not so low, and a newer model TV (like other Motel One) might improve its appearance. It cost more to stay in this room than the ones in the modern wing, I'd rather stay in a smaller room that feels much more cosier. There is also no mobile phone reception inside my room.

Overall experience was good but on the 8th in the evening I asked for a water to the receptionist (a lady with orange hair) and she had been very unpolite. Some of the other employees have been friendly but that specific was terrible and ruined my experience at the hotel
Every time I return to Magdeburg I seek the possibility to stay with the friendly team at Motel One. Location is perfect in the city center, rooms are very nice and always clean. Breakfast is delicious and well dimensioned. If I should say something on the negative side it would be that the price both for the rooms and for breakfast have gone up in a steep way.

It was our second stay at Motel One this August. We were greeted by the same lovely gentleman who spoke great English and was very helpful at checking in especially that we don’t speak German at all! All Staff have been absolutely amazing. Every time we needed anything, they were there to assist. Not to mention going an extra mile for us (we were super tired after the long journey) with preparing some sandwiches late in the evening! Thank you very much for being so kind and also for offering water bowls for our dogs - such a lovely gesture and made us all feel very welcome. We will definitely be back! :) Anna&Bart + Ozzy&Cooper

The hotel has a great location, the people at the reception, bar and breakfast service are very friendly and accommodating. The bar has a lot of very good drinks to choose from and the bartenders are very knowledgeable. The hotel is very clean and there are parking lots available the garage beside the hotel. Easy to access. The rooms are nice and clean and our rooms (Mom and me) were silent although being on the side of the hotel facing the road. I deducted one point from the room review because the aircondition in my room didn’t seem to work as well as in my moms room although they were at the same setting and the water pressure in my room was a little low. Not having a place to store clothes still works out good. The breakfast was very nice ( a lot of things to choose from). A great thing is the question at the beginning about the cleaning of the room. To be able to choose that you don’t need cleaning and new towels every day is a great idea and is a plus for sustainability. All in all a very nice stay in the motel one and we are looking forward to staying there again.

We stayed at Motel One in Magdeburg after a long car journey from the UK, with our two cocker spaniels (1/08). The hotel and its staff are lovely! The location is just perfect, breakfast was a great value with lots of options. I was greeted by a very attentive and friendly gentleman who looked after the area very well. We absolutely loved the soundproofing which is really important if you want a good night sleep. Looking forward to stay with you again in two weeks time :)

Well designed great value for money hotel. Friendly staff with excellent English for any English speakers travelling in Germany. Lovely internal courtyard area for breakfast outside on one side. Great views of Cathedral and Square on other side. Tea and coffee facilities in the room would be a good simple addition to increase the score from and 8 to a 10/10.

Good overall. Great location. Only negatieve is that this room was just far too small. No way to unpack or store anything WiFi is unprotected. That seems to be a trend in hotels but that exposes your guests to hacking etcetera. Not really acceptable for a responsible hotel.

Douchevloer te glad als deze nat is. Ontbijtbuffet onoverzichtelijk en keuken personeel niet altijd even vriendelijk. Waardeloze zitruimte voor het ontbijt. Uitzicht van de kamer op een muur.
An elegant building in a elegant square, stays are a pleasant mix of efficiency and style. Rooms are a bit small and the elevator frequently decided that it was healthier to use the stairs.

Zoals eigenlijk altijd zeer tevreden, maar dit keer niet zo. De veren in onze dekbedden zijn kennelijk na het wassen van de dekbedden allemaal samen geklonterd waardoor we geen lekker donzig dekbed hadden.
Kamer qua grootte oké. Nachts te warm op de kamer. Bediening verlichting vanuit bed niet flexibel, niet links en rechts naar persoonlijke voorkeur te bedienen. TV, enkel Duitse (commerciële) zenders is een gemiste kans, BBC, Nederlandstalige en Franstalige publieke zender(s) horen bij uw hotel. Badkamer oké, alle functies goed en schoon. Ontbijt aanbod oké, echter te weinig comfortabele zitplekken voor grootte hotel.

Maagdenburg heeft een geschiedenis van meer dan 1200 jaar achter zich en die begint meteen voor onze deur. Direct aan de Elbe gelegen kijkt ons Motel One uit op de Dom van Maagdenburg, het symbool van deze stad en tegelijkertijd een van de eerste gotische kathedralen van Duitsland. Hier ervaart u de rust van een godshuis en worden diverse belangrijke stukken uit diverse stijlperioden tentoongesteld. Zo vindt u hier vroeggotische sculpturen uit zandsteen, de beroemde portaalfiguren van de maagden alsook het koorgestoelte van de kanunniken van de Dom. Als pauze nodigen wij u uit voor een kopje koffie in onze gezellige One Lounge.
De tweede architecturale trekpleister in de wijk rondom de Dom die u niet mag missen, bevindt zich eveneens recht tegenover onze hoteldeur: de Groene Citadel (die eigenlijk roze is). Dit gebouw wordt gezien als een van de belangrijkste werken van de kunstenaar Hundertwasser. Door zijn excentrische architectuur kunt u dit woon- en winkelcomplex absoluut niet missen. Cafeetjes, restaurants en winkels wisselen elkaar hier vrolijk af. Even wandelen en u bent van het hotel bij het Alte Rathaus, waarvan de geschiedenis teruggaat tot in de 12e eeuw.

Houdt u van groen, dan hoeft u niet ver te gaan in Maagdenburg. Via een brug over de Elbe bent u zo in het stadspark waar u naar hartenlust kunt wandelen en flaneren. Wanneer u wilt zien hoe Maagdenburg opeens een heel ander gezicht krijgt, raden wij u aan om langs de recent geëxploiteerde oeverpromenade langs de Elbe te wandelen.
