Excellent location in the heart of the city, nice rooms, competitive rates, lovely rooms and very good, attentive, and friendly staff. It is the only hotel I choose when I come to visit my hometown
A nice hotel in the middle of the city. Clean and quiet. Good breakfast.
Reception kindly allowed us to check in early when we arrived from the airport. The staff was unfailingly kind and helpful in answering my questions and helping me navigate transportation.
I had two things which made my stay uncomfortable, even though the hotel itself was good: -cushion: 2 huge cushions that are not suitable to sleep on (at least one should have been flatter) -too cold: in my room it was extremely cold even though I put the air conditioner to 25 celsius. The heating system was probably shut down completely. That's why it was not really comfortable to stay in the room.

Very well located. Fantastic to get this public transport card for free, I loved it. Daniel is great. Unfortunately, it was really really hot in the room and there was no air coming from the AC. I had to open the window but it was too noisy. Bad night sleep.

Goede bedden, zeer schoon en goede ligging. Minpuntje is de douchedeur: die was open aan de onderkant zodat de vloer van de badkamer nat werd.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Nice, clean room. I do think the room could use more "surfaces" where guests can put things like makeup bags etc.
Centrally located in Basel so a bit noisier that some other properties. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, etc. Conveniently located on the tram line with rapid access to everywhere including the airport.
There was no option to open the window because they were within a New Yorker showroom. The AC was not working, and in a super small room, it was almost impossible to get any fresh air circulating. Some guests were opening the door to the hallway, which makes the Motel a youth hostel.
Staff were fantastic. Very friendly. Special mention of David on the night shift. Rooms were too stuffy. Unable to open a window for any fresh air.

top location, best position in town
I had paid for my room in advance. I didn't arrive until the night. Upon arrival, it turned out that my room had been canceled anyway and they did not immediately find confirmation of my payment. Fortunately, there was another room available and the problem could be solved.
Nice and peaceful, well located, very safe. I wish the room had a mini fridge and kettle/microwave.
such kind "mitarbeiters!" so welcoming! My room 4th floor was so quiet. Everything so clean and bed was great. The location is fantastic. In the heart of the city and close to Trams and EVERYTHING! I could walk home from the theater late at night and felt safe. A wonderful visit. Thank you!!!

Needed a place to stay in Basel. Hotel was at a great location, room great for me as I just needed a place to sleep. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The espresso in the lounge is really quite excellent.
Friendly personnel. When arriving and the next morning the room 540 was really cool. It got better around noon.
Nice location once you find it driving in. Left one Motel One to reach this one. Disappointed that a bottle of water was not offered on check in, only realised later it is typical of Motel one. Staffing in the evening was questionable, I realise it is a holiday week, but a minimum, knowledgeable staff should be present, especially for the bar area where I saw revenue walking away.
Having a Christmas Market right outside the lobby door made this location amazing! We had spent the previous week on a Rhine River cruise, but I was able to spend more time at this Christmas Market than any of the others we visited. I would have appreciated the ability to get a light breakfast here (coffee and a croissant).

It's a pleasant, lively hotel with fair pricing. Clean rooms, good windows that keep noise from street out. A good place to be and enjoy the town.
This was the fourth time we came to Basel and stayed at Motel One. Always a good place to be, like home away from home…
Prettige sfeer. Aardige mensen. Het enige dat ik jammer vond is dat het raam niet open kon, want ik houd van buitenlucht.
Iets meer haakjes om bijv kleding op te hangen zouden fijn zijn geweest. In de lounge miste ik meer mogelijkheden om gewoon 'aan tafel te zitten'. Met name bij het ontbijt is dat wel erg fijn. Voor niet-Zwitsers blijft de prijs schrikbarend hoog, maar ik weet van andere motel one hotels in europa dat de prijzen daar heel OK zijn.
Heel fijn hotel om als uitvalsbasis te hebben voor zakelijke afspraken. Goede ligging, comfortabele kamers, vriendelijk personeel.

Prima hotel op een perfecte locatie. De Cosy One-kamers zijn prima voor één persoon, alleen jammer dat er geen kleine tafel of bureau is. Ook (juist) een alleenreizende persoon wil graag werken in zijn kamer.
Comfortabel hotel op een ideale locatie in Basel. In vergelijking met andere Motel Ones vond ik de prijs aan de hoge kant.

Een afbeelding met evenementenposters van de nabijgelegen Kunsthalle Basel verraadt al aan de receptie dat kunst een bepalend thema is in dit Motel One in Bazel. Verlichte fotokaders zetten de flessen aan de bar op een stijlvolle manier in de kijker. Ontbijten doet u in een authentieke atelierhoek op Overdyed Chair-stoelen, van het label Diesel for Moroso en rondom u ziet u een heleboel penselen, tubes, pakjesverf en de 'Tu-be'-luster van Ingo Maurer. Een absolute blikvanger is het kunstwerk 'Soundscape' van de Bazelse kunstenaar Adrian Falkner. Het maakt de akoestische sfeer visueel en geeft het leven en de ontmoetingen in onze lobby weer.
Ons voordeliger Design Hotel ligt direct in het centrum van de oude binnenstad van Bazel, dichtbij de bezienswaardigheden zoals het Munster van Bazel, het Rathaus en de Petersplatz. Ook het Centraal Station en het beursplein liggen dichtbij.
