I´ve missed a bottle of water on the room - I´ve seen that you just get it if you are a Motel One member. Our group missed some scrambled eggs or any warm dishes for breakfast.
All was good apart from 1 thing. The sheets of our beds haven't been washed for quite some time, because I had been scratching my body for almost 4 days. it was like bites of mosquito bites on my body. The doctor said it might be Bed fleas from a lack of hygiene and washing. That is the only complaint I needed to make. Hygiene is very important.

You cancelled my booking before I showed up at 8pm without warning! And the room was hot and I was told the cooking system was turned off to save money.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Neumarkt Motel One. True value for money. A very well decorated reception and bar/restaurant and the breakfast was excellent. The room was also very nice and clean. We'll definitely return to this or other Motel One locations.
Everyone was super friendly. Rooms were clean and quiet, didn't hear other guests at all. Would have been good to have more water in the room but one was given for free when I checked in. Super easy check in, really like the online option, I was arriving very late the evening so was able to check in before hand. Breakfast had a good range of continental items. I was able to leave my bags in storage on my last day so I could go explore the city. Super convenient, within walking distance to all the major attractions especially the market and shopping district and the river. Really enjoyed my time in Cologne and thinking of bringing my family at Christmas.

Great location, room was adequate. Bar and housekeeping staff very friendly. However check in experience wasn’t so - after checking in on line and receiving conformation key could be collected at designated pick up station, on arrival I advised the receptionist I had checked in on line ( as per the many emails from motel one) to be told you need a key for your room so you need to check in here. Completely dismissed the fact I had checked in on line. Ironically the tv in the lift was promoting self service check in.
The motel itself is very nice and very conveniently located. The staff is very friendly and quite helpful - absolutely no complaints here! The rooms spotless. Only thing that was less than nice was the nearly doubling in room price from night to night - 85 euros on Thursday to 150 on Saturday. And what - did the room suddenly get bigger? Nope. 150 Euros is definitely way overpriced for this room. I am guessing that it was price gouging for the fireworks show on the Rhine (which we were not interested in at all). To the question, would I recommend this motel - I prefer to support independent establishments, and I would look for a less expensive room, perhaps farther out of town. So - the motel is nice, but not my preferred place to stay. I only stayed there because my friends were also staying there and it was proximate to the tram line to the university which was our actual goal for the visit to Cologne.
Stay was great as usual. Room was nice and clean, the bar, outside spaces and breakfast are great. Here is my one little complaint: the tv channels! 1 should be ARD, 2 ZDF and being in Köln 3 should be WDR - which was not tuned in at all shocking. I do appreciate catering to international guests BBC always great, would question the need for CNN and some of the rubbish channels, but I’m sure nobody would mind switching through to find them 🤣

One of the best hotel I’ve stayed in yet.
As a couple, we stayed for one night. The hotel has great location; parking garage being right next to the entrance of the hotel. Receptionists are very friendly; and the room is simple and clean. Air conditioning is working well and also quiet. The mattress is a little bit on the hard side but bed covers are fresh and nice. I am overall satisfied with the stay.

No es de mi gusto el emplazamiento. Demasiada gente en el desayuno, caótico. Mal olor en el baño, esto es común a los tres Motel One que he conocido y en mis varias estancias en ellos. Algún problema de construcción. Y no hay ni un vaso en el lavabo. El trato del personal aquí muy bueno.

Tolles Hotel
This was my second stay at Motel One Cologne Neumarkt. The staff are friendly, the hotel is clean, comfortable and in a very convenient location. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Overall, my Motel One was a pleasant stay, as usual when I stay at Motel One properties. Like many hotels, Motel One speaks of its sustainability practices, but provides little information about recycling, for example. Are the trash bins in the rooms sorted for recyclable materials? The paper cups provided in the bathrooms should be replaced with reusable cups.

Ha sido una estancia perfecta. La habitación limpia, funcional, el personal super amable! Lo único si tuviera que mencionar algo es esto: La recepcionista me dijo que no me dio una botella de agua al hacer el check-in porque no estaba logeada con mi perfil cuando hice la reserva. Me quedé un poco sorprendida - me trató como un alumno que no hizo bien sus deberes. Jajajaja! El desayuno bien, pero continental standard con un huevo cocido, falta un plato caliente como salchichas bacon, huevo revuelto o estilo omelette. Demasiado caro 16.50 EUR para un café y un bocadillo.
Todo estuvo muy bien, excepto el desayuno del primer día en el que había una reunión de empresa en el salón y no había mesas disponibles y largas colas en el bufet de desayunos. Tampoco había nadie controlando quién entraba o no en el salón a desayunar. Todo el resto muy bien.
La calefacción no funcionaba en la habitación 411. Lo comunicamos el miércoles por la noche y nos dijeron que al día siguiente pasaría el técnico pero el jueves, cuando por la mañana volvimos a comentarlo, nos dijeron que el técnico no estaba en el hotel. nos ofrecieron cambiar de habitación si dejábamos la nuestra a las 12h pero no nos pareció buena solución ya que teníamos un tour programado.

El hotel no está mal, las habitaciones bien pero lo que me parece surrealista es que ningún empleado de los que estaban en recepción supiera español y que no hubiera ni un canal de televisión en español. El desayuno muy bien. Los empleados latinos... un diez en amabilidad, simpatía y en profesionalidad.

UNA VUELTA ALREDEDOR DE LA CATEDRAL
La Catedral es el corazón de Colonia, pero vale la pena dar una vuelta por sus alrededores
Dropped Cone
Justo delante de la puerta del hotel, el cono de helado probablemente más caro del mundo decora el centro comercial Galería Neumarkt. La “fresca” obra de arte de tres toneladas y 1, 5 millones de euros se elaboró en 2001 por el artista del Pop Art, Claes Oldenburg, y se embarcó desde San Francisco hasta la ciudad de la Catedral. ¡Cámaras preparadas!
Torre de la Catedral
No tiene que escalar la Catedral para poder ver de cerca la impresionante obra tallada en piedra. Una reproducción del florón de la torre de la Catedral en tamaño original se encuentra justo delante de la entrada principal.
Fuente de los duendecillos
Las leyendas de los duendecillos están tan arraigadas en la cultura de Colonia como la cerveza local. Enfrente de la cervecería más antigua de la ciudad, la “Früh”, se encuentra la fuente construida en 1897, que evoca los hacendosos duendecillos domésticos de los ciudadanos del poema de August Kopisch.

Encontramos testimonio de la rica historia romana en cualquier esquina de la ciudad. Justo al lado de la Catedral vale la pena hacer una paradita en el antiguo portón norte, en la Hafenstrasse o la torre Lysolphturm, una torre en esquina de la antigua muralla de la ciudad.

UNA VUELTA POR EL RIN
Paseo con vistas
Desde nuestro Motel One en Neumarkt salimos al casco antiguo, en la plaza del Heumarkt. Después de cruzar el puente Deutz, se deslizará al sur a lo largo del astillero Deutz en dirección a Poll. Por el puente giratorio Köln-Deutz pasamos por las praderas de Poll y el puerto de Deutz hasta el puente Sur, desde el que hay una vista impresionante del horizonte de Colonia. Al cruzar el Rin, se atraviesa el puerto Rheinau (con cafés y bares para hacer una parada) y se pasa por las características grúas y el museo del chocolate para volver a la plaza del Heumarkt.
Quien tenga ganas de ampliar la ruta, puede seguir desde la plaza del Heumarkt por el Rin hasta el puente Hohenzollern. Aquí puede volver a cruzar el puente y dar una pequeña vuelta por el parque del Rin, antes de volver al centro de la ciudad por el puente del zoo.

¡Colonia y su Catedral tienen algo especial!
Nuestro hotel en Colonia se encuentra situado justo en el Neumarkt, la antigua plaza del mercado de ganado de la ciudad, que se fundó en 1076. Hoy en día, las vacas, los caballos y las gallinas no son los que conquistan el corazón de los compradores, sino más bien las boutiques, los grandes almacenes, etc. La Schildergasse, la calle de compras más popular de Colonia, se encuentra a la puerta de nuestro hotel de diseño en Colonia y en unos minutos le llevará al corazón del casco antiguo. En él le esperan el Ayuntamiento histórico, el Museo de Artes Aplicadas o el puente Hohenzollernbrücke sobre el Rin, así como diversas cervecerías típicas donde refrescarse al dar una vuelta por la ciudad. Finalmente, a través de callejuelas medievales, desde nuestro hotel llegará al símbolo de la ciudad, la Catedral de Colonia.
El interior de nuestro hotel en Colonia-Neumarkt también está definido por esta imponente obra arquitectónica, que es Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la UNESCO y uno de los monumentos más visitados de Alemania. Desde los coloridos mosaicos de cristal de la zona de bar, que recuerdan a las artísticas ventanas de la catedral, hasta los separadores de espacios transparentes, inspirados en sus arcos góticos. Desde las instalaciones murales, que transportan al espectador directamente al interior de la nave, hasta los detalles de pizarra y mármol, que representan la estructura de piedra de este monumento con cientos de años de antigüedad, que es todo un imán de visitantes. Nuestro Motel One Colonia-Neumarkt es un homenaje al emblema de Colonia, ¡y (casi) tan bonito como el original!
