It was pleasant — good service, nice breakfast, beautiful architecture. Thank you. One really tiny thing that could be improved: The TV set (with the fireplace gif) is turned on automatically whenever one enters the room. This seemed unnecessary; I had to switch it off manually each time. Let me stress that this really tiny issue did not change my overall view of your excellent hotel. But I thought perhaps my hint is useful. Thank you, best wishes, LE
The best location in town !!!
Love this hotel. Great location, friendly staff and cool bar. The only complaint I have is there used to be an extra chair in the rooms to sit on or relax on, now there is only a small hard chair for the way to tiny desk.

Great staff, clean room, and comfortable bed. Some noise from outside, the breakfast is very overpriced, and very expensive room (due to Essen Spiel). The beer is never cold enough! There should also be draft beer.

It was a nice stay. There was no fridge in the room and I could not cast from my phone to the tv. The room was cleaned every day even with the "No cleaning, please" sign on the door. Regarding the bathroom, it seemed like there was only a weak ventilation, and the knob for the water in the shower was difficult to turn. There was no password on the wifi, meaning that anyone can access it and in principle the data transfers.
150 a night for a single-room is too expensive.
Staff and service was very great. Price reasonable. The only change I wish you could make, is to ensure which floor you can stay on in advance. I have severe fear of heights/vertigo, and cant go higher than the 2nd floor. Thankfully, we traveled in a big group of more than 100 people, and I was able to switch rooms internally within our group (initially had 5th floor, which changed to 3rd floor after talking to staff. I ended on 2nd floor after switching internally).
It was good in general, except hair presence on the bed shits. That was awful, to be honest. I don’t know their origin, maybe it was just fibers from the pillow, but it really looked like very short hair.
A good stay - the bar staff were super friendly! The room could do with a couple of extra pillows - apart from that all good.

I didn't think the breakfast was great and I also missed the scrambled eggs with bacon, maybe not the most important but I think a hotel should offer that to their guests

As always, a pleasure to stay at MotelOne. Great bar, lovely big room, great location.
Everything was perfect. I arrived at 2am in the morning, but reservation still in the system and check-in was fast. The invoice wasn't sent to me by email as promised.

Good hotel Very friendly staff Good price-quality Great location Nice bar and restaurant Feedback: But the shower was ice cold in the evening!! Luckily in the morning the water was warm again. Room's are fine, but a bit noisy. Would be nice if you can make the room really dark at night, as now you still had several lights from electronic devices that you could not all switch off. I did not know about the free wifi and was not able to look up the log-in code quickly (or maybe it was not needed, but would be nice if they told us at the reception) I had the feeling I was not able to lock the door at night, which would have been nice. Last, maybe it's a bit tricky to have such a large fire alarm button attached to the wall. When I wanted to visit the toilet at night, I was afraid to press that button when searching for the lights button in the darkness. Putting the soap in the shower in a glass bottle might be tricky if it slips out of your hands (for injuries, but also glass will be broken I guess) There was still a plastic sticker next to the sink of a previous guest, which housekeeping should have cleaned before I entered the room
Team was pleasant and helpful Good atmosphere We had an issue with our telephone, we were not sure where it was. We were at the Ruhr museum, we called the hotel and asked to check if it was in our room, this was done and reported back in a very short time.

Very friendly staff (9 Out of 10 exceptionally kind)- perfectly located- quiet and bright- great breakfast except for the coffee which has always been bad... I wish it would change to something like Café Crema from Tschibo if there was an organic quality of it... I keep dreaming
Friendly staff, great breakfast, comfortable rooms. Staff also found an item I had left in the room, kept it safe and are arranging to return it to me.

It is conveniently located, well maintained hotel. The reception and other staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. Only thing is the family room was bit too small, otherwise it was nice stay.

Very nice and clean hotel right in the heart of Essen. Always a pleasure to enjoy a drink at the bar where the bartenders make you feel comfortable after a busy working day.
Very friendly staff and nice accommodation
Overall the experience was good. I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and I believe they have updated their rooms, which I like. The chair and desk were fine for the work I had to do while traveling. Plenty of seats in the lounge. My one downside was breakfast. Perhaps falsely, but I remember the breakfast being better, with scrambled eggs and pancakes. It is really just a cold continental breakfast. Plenty of breads, pastries, spreads and cold cuts. A pile of cooked eggs in the shell, though unsure if hard or soft boiled. I wished for 17euro that there was a bit more hot food, but oh well.
I had to disconnect the TV from the socket on arrival to stop the annoying flames on every entry to the room. I regret not having done this in previous years. I understand it as a gimmick, but having to turn OFF the TV on every entry is just a pain.
It’s a great hotel, the breakfast is nice and the staff is mostly great. I am stayong at Motel One every year for Spiel and the experience is overall good.
