Hotel is well located, staff is friendly and supportive, price is good. Rooms are small but for a short stay sufficient. Bathroom very small but also sufficient. Room overall good and fair price. The only thing is the floor cleaning could have been a bit better. I found some stuff around the bed. Overall, I would recommend Motel One Berlin-Hauptbahnhof. One more remark: The attandance at the hotel bar was not satisfying, long waiting time because nobody was there and the guy from the reception couldn´t help because he was alone. Waiting time overall too long and prices seem rather high (Gin Tonic EUR 16.50!).
Great hotel - our second time staying here. Very clean, air conditioning and amazing location - great for getting around Berlin.
Staff very helpful on arrival giving info about how to navigate Berlin on trams/trains. They gave us an iron and ironing board upon request to keep in our room during our stay. Bar staff gave us ice buckets to take to the room to cool drinks down as there were no fridges in the rooms.
We had stayed here for a week and I would like to say that we had a wonderful time here in this hotel . Highly recommended!
The hotel was very convenient, clean and safe. We would stay there again.
Small room, very modest breakfast, breakfast late (after 6.am, so missed out)
Most of the hotels now have shamooos , co ditioners and body lotions. Also the option to co ect to different streaming channels
From the time we checked in,we enjoyed our brief stay
I enjoyed everything, from check-in to check-out. The only suggestion I have - which comes up every time I visit your hotel - is to offer a wider selection of breakfast dishes, such as porridge or an omelet. It would also be great to have full-fat Greek yogurt on the menu. In any case, thank you for the excellent service.
Breakfast could be improved. To stay 1 week without gym was not great.. There is no additional items such as water kettle..
1. The rooms were extremely small. 2. There is no availability of Iron Boxes and if we want one we have to come to the reception and I waited for 6 hours for one that too after arguing with the reception for too long- the reason was although they have 15 iron boxes, they have no idea where they were as customers took them and never returned yet - This means anyone can steal anything at the Motel One- which has no tracking or something. This is very bad for the hotel. 3. The staff are rude and said we can’t give you water bottle because this is just for Motel One Members. A hotel that charges 170€ per night doesn’t offer basic water is absolute theft. And as Employees, we can’t even book via the Motel One’s website as we have dedicated Booking sites, so does that mean we never have water? - This is absolutely insane and unfathomable. 4. The lobby area is very untidy and gives a very bad impression of the entire place. 5. I was treated badly for asking for an Iron Box by one of the staff members in the RECEPTION - He told me I was yelling while I was just trying to get an Iron Box which I specifically asked for 1 day before checking in over a Phone call and I was false informed that it will be available at the reception - Giving False promises to people needing an iron Box for Work purposes is absolutely not appreciated. 6. House Keeping didn’t clean the room at all, there was hair all over the bed - small follicles and I couldn’t sleep looking at that and there is not even a Phone to call the House Keeping directly, and by the time I reached the hotel on the first night I was really upset looking at all the hair follicles on the bed - A basic vaccuum would have done the Job. 7. The key cards stop working all the time, I had to come 4 times during my 2 days stay to get new key cards and the 4th time, they inform me that if its close to the Mobile Phone it stops working - This is very bad service, had they informed me earlier I’d have kept it in my Wallet and not in my Pockets 7. Overall this hotel is suitable for none coming for work, but just people who care nothing about service. Upon that I was told I would be given a voucher for a drink for the inconvenience caused by all this. I simply denied but I was not asked for anything when I checked out or anything if I liked the Service or if I’d like the Voucher. For the amount of Discomfort caused to me, I would never recommend anyone from my Work Place to stay there and infact raise a complaint in my work place to remove your hotel from our booking list. I have made videos for Instagram and I’m going to post it as soon as I can to show how bad your hotel is, and everyone will know that! If you can’t deliver service, atleast don’t charge so much money.
I'm a frequent client of Motel One and usually the experience is good. This time it was as well.
Great stay as always! I like the relaxed atmosphere and style.
Excellent stay. Extremely helpful and considerate front desk. I look forward to my next visit.
Super friendly staff
Guter Standard.
Nice rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast
Friendly staff and central location
I was very happy. Especially for the value. The room was clean the bed was comfy. The staff was great. the location was great. I would surely come back & find other motel one in other areas
Pls consider the remarks and comments in the booking.
I was very satisfied with the reservation process, the reception, and the cleanliness of the room. The only downside was my experience with the bar staff, who were unhelpful and came across as rude. Improving customer service and professionalism in this area would make the overall guest experience much better.
The check in process was smooth, the room clean and comfortable. I did find it strange that I was told that the air conditioning in the room didn't work, but I was very aware that the hotel doesn't really have a traditional air conditioning system and therefore the room can only be cooled a couple of degrees. They offered to cancel the reservation for me. I assume this was because it was very hot outside and they knew some guests would complain, but in fact the room wasn't too hot at all.
Super
Comfortable hospitality friendly staff healthy breakfast
Great place, loved the hotel atmosphere. Apart from the usual hotel being nice, what I found really interesting is the presence of a locker!
Check-in took too long. The room was clean—no complaints there. We liked that we had plenty of storage spaces. The bed size was great, but the mattresses and pillows were too soft. All four of us ended up with back and neck pain. It’s in a great central location. The hotel is located in the Mall of Berlin. There are several options for getting around by public transportation. Parking in the Mall of Berlin parking garage costs €25 per day.
I particularly liked the lobby area. It´s a very pleasant place to sit and have a cool drink; soft chairs and a nice ambiance. The breakfast was good too. I slept really well in my bed. The staff was nice and friendly. I would like to stay at the hotel again some time. I slight annoyance was that there was a leak in the ceiling in my room from the ventilation system, so that water came dripping down, but I placed the wastepaper basket underneath to contain the water, and so it didn´t bother me all that much.
very lovely and comfortable. However the room was missing a bin for trash.
Pros: excellent location for reaching all the central parts of historical Berlin; clean & quiet rooms; some high quality staff at the front desk (especially Leonie who was super efficient). There's plenty of room to gather in the lounge area; good value for money. Cons: would have been great to have a laundry service; bar service was very slow.
I really liked this hotel and will try to go there again next time I'm in Berlin. The hotel is simple but very well-run. Staff are very friendly and efficient, and they were very accommodating as my flight was cancelled and I had to remove one night at the last minute. One thing that would have been nice is a kettle in the room. But I realise this isn't common in Germany.
Comfortable, quiet room, chill bar area
To me this is the best place to stay at in Berlin. It offers Greta location, great high end design, high end service and clean and comfy rooms, all for great money value. I travel with my young kids and they stay in my room for free, this even adds to the value-for-money. I love the bar on the 18th floor which offer a great view to the city. Also it’s very easy to book and pay at the property. They also offer to stir the luggage at the hotel which is very helpful if you want to stay longer in the city abut don’t want to take all the luggage with you. Big thanks to the staff members who have been very helpful since the first minute till the check out (Liv, Charlie and all the front dear members). Simply the best place to stay at in Berlin- every time.
Overall good! Great housekeeping standard too! Consider following: to have email communication in English to cater to international crowd. Check in process to be faster. Provide bedroom slipper.
It was the hottest Sommer ever in Germany and the air conditioner wasn't working as it should. Sometimes we even opened the windows and ir was cooler outside. Such a shame
I've been staying with Motel One for almost 15 years. I remember when rooms were €60 a night. The price point has climbed up and up past €110 per night while the hard product has remained almost exactly the same. I remember Motel One being a good value hotel - now it's beginning to out-price itself for what is a 16 square metre room
Fire alarm procedures need revision.
Air conditioning inadequate.
Very good.
Poor customer support, reception staff not very nice and without proper training, almost paid services I have not used (only after I insisted for the third time, somebody actually checked what is charged), basic amenities not present in the room(paper cup, really?), curtains not appropriate for room (only dark curtains or you can have everyone around you to watch you), breakfast very poor (no eggs, except boiled eggs?), only lounge area confirms status of the price and experience, but it is way nicer and better than anything other in the hotel.
I could not find any USB charging pots in the room. This is a necessity these days.
The air conditioning in the rooms is inadequate, but the common areas are very good. The breakfast section is insufficient.
It is a clean hotel; not as luxurious or well kept as the pictures, The skybar and roof terrace are nice. The location is central but I would not want to walk around the area.
I had an issue with my air conditioning in my first room. Despite complaining multiple times at the reception about the same no action was taken despite the heatwave. Finally a technician came and fixed it and the air conditioning worked for a few hours before it stopped working again. One of the staff at the receptionist was very unhelpful, rude and condescending. Instead of helping and listening to me, he just handed me a small fan which did not help cool down. Finally after complaining 6-7 times towards the end of my stay, my room was changed to one with working air conditioning.
My favorite hotel, everything is just perfect
Really nice and cosy Hotel in the city center. Quite during the night, abosolutely friendly people at the reception desk and at breakfast room. Excellent breakfast choice. A bit expensive but worth it.
Air conditioning in the second room was doing poorly, what is real problem in heat wave. Othervise, everything was fine, location is great.
Super Lage
No place to sit and work on a table with a MacBook (not in the room and not in the lobby), room was very warm because the AC had issues
Very nice quiet hotel 15 minute walk from anywhere you want to be in the city. The hotel is clean and the hotel lobby is very nice.
Great location, super friendly staff. Nice selection in the bar. Very high cleanliness both in reception/bar area and in the room. The room itself was nice and surprisingly quiet! Small minus was that the room got a bit humid and it was hard to ventilate it away. This might have been due to the heatwave and humidity in Berlin though. Breakfast was good, but not exceptional.

What can you expect at the Motel One hotels in Berlin?
“Berlin is more a part of the world than a city,” wrote Jean Paul, and that is exactly how the capital still feels today. Berlin consists of many centres, neighbourhoods and contrasts: the government district, Museum Island, Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz, City West, Kreuzberg, the banks of the Spree and peaceful green spaces are either close together or deliberately side by side, depending on the route.
Motel One’s Berlin design hotels draw on the urban influences of their respective surroundings and combine them with the familiar Motel One standard: One Lounge, bar, breakfast, modern rooms and free Wi-Fi. This overview shows you which location suits your plans for Berlin – from your first city break to your regular business trips.

Which Motel One hotel in Berlin is right for your trip?
If you’re travelling by train, want to be close to the government district and need to find your way around the Brandenburg Gate, Spreebogen or Potsdamer Platz, our Motel One at Berlin Central Station is the obvious choice. If you’re focusing on classic sightseeing in Mitte, Motel One Berlin-Alexanderplatz, Motel One Berlin-Hackescher Markt, Motel One Berlin-Spittelmarkt or Motel One Berlin-Potsdamer Platz are all good options – depending on whether the TV Tower, Museum Island, Nikolai Quarter, Checkpoint Charlie, Gendarmenmarkt or the Kulturforum are at the top of your itinerary.
For shopping, the theatre, the zoo and City West, Motel One Berlin-Upper West, Motel One Berlin-Ku’damm and Motel One Berlin-Tiergarten are convenient starting points. If you’re planning an evening out to bars, restaurants, Kreuzberg, the banks of the Spree or the creative neighbourhoods of Mitte, Motel One Berlin-Mitte might be the better choice. Motel One Berlin-Bellevue is ideal if you want to combine a central location with a quieter setting near the Spree and Bellevue Palace.
For business travellers: choose your accommodation based on your meeting schedule rather than just the name of the district. For meetings at the main railway station, in the government district or around the Charité hospital, Berlin-Hauptbahnhof is the obvious choice. For meetings at Potsdamer Platz, in Mitte or at venues in the city centre, Potsdamer Platz, Spittelmarkt, Hackescher Markt and Alexanderplatz are sensible choices. For appointments in City West, at agencies, retail outlets or cultural institutions around Ku’damm and the Zoo, Upper West, Ku’damm and Tiergarten are good options. If you have several appointments spread across the city, a location with quick access to the S-Bahn or U-Bahn is usually more important than the shortest route to a single attraction.
How do you explore Berlin from the Motel One hotels?
Berlin bears the marks of its years of division into East and West, whilst at the same time being a young, creative metropolis with events, a start-up culture and an international art scene. The city is synonymous with Hertha and Union, döner and currywurst, a rich history and the typical Berlin attitude.
Depending on your hotel, you can quickly reach many of the city’s classic sights by underground, S-Bahn, bus or on foot:
– the Reichstag and the government district near the main station
– Museum Island, Berlin Cathedral and the Nikolaiviertel
– City West with the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Ku’damm and KaDeWe
– Remnants of the Berlin Wall, such as at Checkpoint Charlie
– Alexanderplatz with the TV Tower
– Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz, the Berlin Philharmonic, the East Side Gallery and many museums
But Berlin is also surprisingly green. The Tiergarten, the riverside paths along the Spree and Tempelhofer Feld give the capital plenty of breathing space. On the former airport site, walks, sport, picnics, cycling and sweeping views all come together. This other side of the city is particularly important after a packed day of museum visits or a long schedule of appointments.
The city’s districts also have their own distinct character: Charlottenburg and City West are known for their elegant shopping streets and cultural offerings; Mitte for its museums, historic sites and galleries; Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain for their bars, clubs, street art and alternative scenes; and Neukölln for its international neighbourhoods and vibrant atmosphere. With ten hotels in Berlin, Motel One can cater to a variety of travel plans without reducing the city to a single centre.
