I was really pleased with the service we received from the reception staff to the breakfast service staff. The hotel rooms were clean and modern although a little on the small size. My only criticism would be the room we were allocated It was a maze of corridors just to get there. We stayed in cockburn street.
The only problem we had was wifi acess. But the hotel is very good. The location and the attendent called Cláudia are perfect.
Very nice room. Bathroom well appointed. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Location of hotel perfect as I was going to Waverley Station in the morning. A biscuit in the room would have been appreciated as I arrived late at night.
Motel One in Edinburgh made for a very pleasant 2-night stay. It was comfortable, attractively decorated, very friendly and had all the facilities we needed. The room (though only a standard one) was quite big enough. Breakfast was good. The price was good, and thus the overall value was excellent.
Only stayed one night n couldn't work the air conditioning out. Strange to have a room with no windows but slept quite well.
overall pleasant hotel, excellent location staff friendly, bedroom rather small. no wardrobe or drawers comfortable bed but 2 small single duvets not much good on a double bed. Heating didnt work in our room always cold air blowing out!!!! really disappointed that there was no hot breakfast even boiled eggs were cold.
The hotel was very clean, the facilities were adequate and the tariff was very reasonable (especially given the location). However the room was disappointing in terms of design - e.g.very limited shelf / hanging space for clothes and very few plug sockets (all of which were in strange and inconvenient places). Overall though, it was clean, the staff were all polite and efficient and the location was great for an overnight in the capital.
Very nice staff. Rooms are big and comfortable. However a wardrobe is missing and for longer stays it would be useful to have one instead of living out of your suitcase. Shower is really big and nice.
Had a great stay, but not having a phone in the room was very inconvenient. Every time we needed to contact the front desk for any reason, ie; taxi information, how do we lengthen our stay, ect, we had to take the elevator downstairs when these questions could have been resolved quicker with a simple phone calls. Otherwise, great stay, and great location.
Excellent location, very friendly and helpfull staff. Rooms compact, modern and clean. We got there early (well before the 3pm check in) and our room was ready for us. Would highly recommend and stay again.
Excellent location in the heart of Edinburgh. Very friendly staff. Spotless and spacious room with fantastic view. Will certainly return!
We arrived early for Musselburgh races and we were happily informed that our room was ready which was excellent. A very speedy check-in with very friendly staff. The room was lovely with an excellent shower and facilities. Hotel located in a great location and would not hesitate to recommend to our family and fiends. Will definitely stay again when visiting Edinburgh. Thanks
Ambiance location interior design 10+ I had to wait very long for checking in because the lady at the desk was helpfull to another costumer. I feel new costumers don't feel welkom this way, too bad.. checking in is only 2 min. when you had an exhausting bustrip of 4 hours like myself all you want is get your key so you can relax ..she should have asked a moment off the other costumer of asked for support of a collega. also the bar-lady could have jumped in to help (se was not busy). The heating in the room didnt work well 304 I was very cold..godbless there were two beds so I took an extra set to keep me warm during the night. When I wanted to book at 14.10 the phone wasnt awnsered unfortunately? 2 -3 minus points make my revieuw an 8 The roomcleaners were very polite& friendly bij the way thats a plus! Yhank you for a lovely stay I looking out to a next visit if you have a nice offer for me ;)
Beautiful hotel, impeccably friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, excellent location, great value. My only complaint is that I booked a double room for two people and expected a double bed, not two singles pushed together. Neither I nor my partner were terribly pleased to keep falling down a hole in the middle of the bed every time one of us rolled over. But for that the score would have been 10/10.
Basic clean room in great location. Breakfast overpriced. Bar prices average.
The hotel was really good. I'w just recommend to put a little fridge in the room. Also the accessibility was not so good because we stayed at the room in the other building so there were stairs in the aisle and 2 elevators to take. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent.
The hotel is right across from Waverley railwaystation and the Airbus stop. Nearby shoppingstreet and restaurants and Edinburgh Castle. The rooms have a good size, are very clean and the bed was good. The bathroom has a lovely shower. It is good value for the Money and the staff is also very friendley wich is very important to have a nice stay. This is the second time I have used this hotel and I have nothing to complain about. I will come back in late november for some christmasshopping and are looking forward to that.
When we first arrived at Hotel we had to wait 20 minutes at Check in while there was 3 members of staff working at the desk. If it had taken any longer I was going to be going to another hotel. There was a double bed in the room which was good but it had two single duvets on the bed instead of a double duvet. I might as well brought a sleeping bag as sleeping in a double bed with two single duvets is no use at all. The TV would not turn itself off either so we had to sleep all night with tv on Also the next day at the bar we waited about 15 -20 mins to be served as there was no one in attendance. The only good thing about Motel one is location, price and cleanliness of the rooms
location is perfect.. easy to find even the first time to visit Edinburgh.. room decoration is nice, comfortable.
My husband and I had a great stay, the hotel was lovely, clean and staff very nice. Location is perfect. Breakfast was good, first time for continental breakfast and it was lovely, plenty of choice and always being topped up. Only thing was checking in we had quite a wait as the couple in front had a problem with their room being given to someone else meaning they were on a different floor from their friends, but the problem was sorted. Apart from that we had a lovely stay will certainly recommend to friends and will be back soon I hope. Tip- try and book early as our trip was last minute and we paid double the price for our one night stay.
Easy booking, and didn't even have to give credit card details. Warm welcome at hotel. Room was facing a tiny courtyard so was very dark with only a view of the neighbours, unfortunately. Tiny bathroom. However; everything was spotless, bed was comfy, lots of tea and coffee, amazing shower, best hair dryer I have ever used in a hotel and super fast checkout. Would absolutely choose this hotel and the brand again.
Generally good but seriously let down by having to listen to your reception staff bickering when we came down for breakfast. Not professional.
Spent one night at Motel One, very clean & comfortable, nice decor. Staff friendly & helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent location, nice rooms but don't know why have two single quilts on a double bed overall good stay
The location [right near the train station, and very close by the things I wanted to see], cleanliness, professionalism of all staff, the firmness of the bed [soooooo comfortable!!]-- I loved it all! The only thing I would add is an in-room small safe, so that I could leave behind some things so I wouldn't have to carry them. It make sit easier on everyone, I think. But I will definitely stay at Motel One again! In fact, I went online when I returned home to see where else you are located! I gave the breakfast a satisfactory out of personal preference: I prefer a hot breakfast. But I understand the breakfast that is available is probably a cost-cutting measure [which is great!]; and, it was well-done, in terms of a cold breakfast.
Delighted with our stay at the weekend, very friendly staff and clean hotel
Great location when travelling by train to Waverly station & for the Royal Mile & Princess Street. Lovely modern tartan torquise decor. Very reasonable price & helpful staff.
Great location at a very affordable price. However I have a few slight complaints with the room: a) the air conditioning did not work in my room, b) the window did not open very well and c) the TV was extremely difficult to work and the TV remote was broken.
Great location in between the old city and the new (both need to be seen and experienced), between the tourist places and where the locals would shop, right by the main railway station, the airport bus & tram to the airport, great restaurants and pubs just a few doors down, nicely furnished, very clean, decent wines by the glass in downstairs bar, friendly and helpful staff, loved the big shower, the carpets felt soft underfoot, the lighting and even the towels were lovely and soft. The bed was just a tiny bit firm for my liking but I still slept very comfortably and was actually surprised how good it was, even though I would have actually chosen something just a little softer. I didn't try the continental buffet breakfast, chose to go out for a wonderful cooked breakfast instead for almost the same price.
+ great location, hygenic rooms and nice reception staff - the room had no view room, thermometer was on 25 degrees but in the morning it was cold in te room
Location is very good. Staff is kind. I choose the room without windows,so it's rather difficult to get the room. I mean the room is far from the elevator hall. Room is clean and confortable.
Lovely hotel, friendly and helpful staff, nice modern decor. The only thing that I felt really let down by was being able to lean out of our window and touch the wall opposite - absolutely no view and totally overlooked by another room so had to keep the curtains closed all the time. I appreciate you pay for the location which is absolutely brilliant, but we stayed for 3 nights and paid more than we would usually for a hotel as a treat to ourselves but felt disappointed about the room in terms of the above. Still rated highly though as the staff were excellent and the rooms themselves very comfortable.
The room was very clean and comfortable. Location is very city centre and the price very reasonable for the centre of Edinburgh. Due to the location of the room above a close it was quite noisy late on Friday night, but this didn't detract from the stay.
Very happy with our stay at motel one Edinburgh Royal,it was really clean and so central for shopping and bars and restaurants would definitely recommend and stay again
Great location, nice, well appointed rooms & great value for money.
Everything was perfect for a city break
Very well located, between New Town and Old Town. Hotel is basic but has everything you need. Very fresh and up to date. Only area that needs improvement and this is the bar prices, far to high!! Would and already have recommend this hotel.... We will be back.
Tidy, clean, and well decorated room. Bit small but to be expected in the middle of an old city. The room was surprisingly quiet despite being next to an internal staircase and level with the alleyway outside the window. Location was excellent although beware there are two "motel one" in Edinburgh - make sure you check the right street too!
Fantastic location. Travevelled to Edinburgh several times and stayed at different hotels on each occasion. This hotel will be my choice next time as it was in a perfect location and priced just right. Basic breakfast but was fair for the money. Definitely wouldn't pay £9.50 unless there was more on offer in regard to variation. Ps. Bar of soap in the rooms would be good! Drinks however were a little over priced and nipped to the pub 20ft away for a draft pint supposed to a £5 bottle.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Edinburgh. It's got a great location; right next to Edinburgh Waverley train station, so new town and old town are both in easy walking distance. There was no noise from the station though, our room was lovely and quiet. The staff were very helpful; I rang to let them know I was coming with my partner for his 30th birthday and they left a card and note for him in our room! Facilities were excellent, the shower was a dream and the room was spotless. Worth every penny, I'd happily stay here again.
Super Lage, freundliches Personal, guter Preis, sauber.
Tolles, zentral gelegenes Hotel. Waren im 5. Stock " view" Zimmer zu Dritt( Zustellbett). Fenster konnten gekippt werden. Alles gut. Sehr zu empfehlen!
Super Aufenthalt.
