Great central position had a great time , only one moan the lack of power points in rooms .
Location perfect, the staff really helpfull and kind, always with a smile and a good word. Breakfast a little busy some days, but nice and good. The room was nice. I loved the teapot and the idea of a "continental" electrical conection in the room. This time I did not forget my adaptor, but I have some times and it is terrible. I would only suggest that you add a handle in the shower, the floor is a bit slipery, at least in my shower. I would also have found a piece of hand soap a nice addition.
Fantastic hotel! Very handy location! The rooms were clean and spacious and the shower was fantastic. Friendly staff and cool decor. Would definitely stay again!
Enjoed my large corner room and very friendly and helpful staff. The Edinburgh location was tops and the price was right. Bed was very cozy and comfortabke and nice quality towels. Improvement ideas...and raise the rate slightly to include them...phones needed in room! What if a guest falls or becomes ill? Also include 1 small bar of soap and forget about the liquid gel. Put a luggage rack in the room. I am too old to have my suitcase on the floor and have to bend over. Also, it is more sanitary. Have the tea kettle right at the wall plug! And ready to switch on. It makes no sense otherwise. I will return, but please consider these i,provements for greater convenience for older guests especially. Thanks you.
Very nice Hotel , good location and no complaints whatsoever . We would certainly use this hotel again .
Had a fabulous 2 night stay at Edinburgh Motel One on Market Street. Came off train and were able to check in 3 hours early which enabled us to start our break straight away. All staff were friendly, courteous and the overall image of the hotel was fantastic. Lovely colours and the bedrooms were fresh and clean. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would definitely stay again - superb central location!
The hotel was in a great location, friendly staff and very comfy
Quick check in and out. Nice room - clean and well kept.
A fine stay, perfect for a few nights or quick stopover
Excellent location, near the Airport buses and between old&new Town. Modern design at the interior of the hotel. Nice people in the reception.
We arrived in Edinburgh at noon and came straight to the hotel. We could leave our luggage there and go to see the city. We came in the evening and got our luggage and the personel did the check-in for our flight and printed the boarding passes. The personel was very friendly. The breakfast was good. The location is excellent as the airport bus stops right in front of the hotel.
It was not pleasant to hear the clerk tell two gentlemen next to me at the reception desk that their room rate, including breakfast, would be 59 Euro even as I handed over my card for a charge of 69 Euro for a single room, no breakfast. Also, I had my son drop off a package for me at the front desk. They told him they would let me know he had done so, but hours later when I hadn't heard anything I had to go to the desk and collect it. Finally, I had bug bites on my ankles when I woke up the next morning. There are simple effective remedies for bedbugs; I'm not sure why this hotel doesn't use them.
Great location. Nice room if spartan. Breakfast was good too.
very friendly staff, nice clean room with an excellent location, close to pretty much everything. I would definitely stay here again.
Motel One Edinburgh-Royal was, for me, a great place to stay. It's pretty central to everything, and a mere stone's throw from Edinburgh Waverley Train Station. I found the staff at the reception and bar areas to be extremely helpful and friendly. The housekeeping staff were also very friendly and accommodating . The design of the room was simple, yet very trendy and very comfortable. I stayed here for three nights, and I wish I could have stayed longer. I'm already booking up again for October 2015!!!
Two specific complaints: Even though guests are told that the room service will be done by 14:00, twice during our stay my husband and I returned to our rooms at least an hour past 14:00 to find that room service had not been performed. The other is the lack of an access ramp to facilitate carrying luggage within the building.
Excellent stay at hotel, quick check in good room, very pleased
10/10 very happy
The location is perfect and convenient, very close to waverley railway station, and the room is clean, but the problem is the room is too small and far from the entrance and reception, it's very inconvenient for visitor with heavy luggage.
Standardroom without windows are to warm due to insufficiënt cooling capacity room airco Altough this very good hotelfacilities and perfect central stay for visiting Edinburg highligths
Great location in the centre near the train station. Friendly staff. Breakfast open until 10am. Room cleaned daily. Good wifi. Breakfast could be cheaper.
- excellent , well-trained front desk staff, quick registration, well-versed in Edinburgh geography (despite none being local. - room very functional and extremely clean, fresh smelling. - had difficulty in adjusting overnight room temperature (too warm) [room 529] - breakfast a bit of a scrum with departing guest groups forming a throng bang in the middle of the breakfast area. Needs one of your experts to sort out the logistics of this problem. - food quality excellent , depleted dishes quickly replenished
Excellent location, very friendly and helpfull staff. Rooms compact, modern and clean. We got there early (well before the 3pm check in) and our room was ready for us. Would highly recommend and stay again.
Lovely and clean rooms but felt moving the table around so we could plug in the kettle a bit of a pain
The hotel is right across from Waverley railwaystation and the Airbus stop. Nearby shoppingstreet and restaurants and Edinburgh Castle. The rooms have a good size, are very clean and the bed was good. The bathroom has a lovely shower. It is good value for the Money and the staff is also very friendley wich is very important to have a nice stay. This is the second time I have used this hotel and I have nothing to complain about. I will come back in late november for some christmasshopping and are looking forward to that.
The hotel was really good. I'w just recommend to put a little fridge in the room. Also the accessibility was not so good because we stayed at the room in the other building so there were stairs in the aisle and 2 elevators to take. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent.
We arrived early for Musselburgh races and we were happily informed that our room was ready which was excellent. A very speedy check-in with very friendly staff. The room was lovely with an excellent shower and facilities. Hotel located in a great location and would not hesitate to recommend to our family and fiends. Will definitely stay again when visiting Edinburgh. Thanks
The only issue with my stay was the location of the only plug point. The only plug point was directly under the bathroom light switch about 2.5 feet above the floor. In order to boil the kettle I had to balance it on the stool. Also the single socket is not ideal when there are two people needing to charge their phones. However everything else was really excellent.
location is perfect.. easy to find even the first time to visit Edinburgh.. room decoration is nice, comfortable.
My husband and I had a great stay, the hotel was lovely, clean and staff very nice. Location is perfect. Breakfast was good, first time for continental breakfast and it was lovely, plenty of choice and always being topped up. Only thing was checking in we had quite a wait as the couple in front had a problem with their room being given to someone else meaning they were on a different floor from their friends, but the problem was sorted. Apart from that we had a lovely stay will certainly recommend to friends and will be back soon I hope. Tip- try and book early as our trip was last minute and we paid double the price for our one night stay.
Excellent location in the heart of Edinburgh. Very friendly staff. Spotless and spacious room with fantastic view. Will certainly return!
Motel One in Edinburgh made for a very pleasant 2-night stay. It was comfortable, attractively decorated, very friendly and had all the facilities we needed. The room (though only a standard one) was quite big enough. Breakfast was good. The price was good, and thus the overall value was excellent.
When we first arrived at Hotel we had to wait 20 minutes at Check in while there was 3 members of staff working at the desk. If it had taken any longer I was going to be going to another hotel. There was a double bed in the room which was good but it had two single duvets on the bed instead of a double duvet. I might as well brought a sleeping bag as sleeping in a double bed with two single duvets is no use at all. The TV would not turn itself off either so we had to sleep all night with tv on Also the next day at the bar we waited about 15 -20 mins to be served as there was no one in attendance. The only good thing about Motel one is location, price and cleanliness of the rooms
Ambiance location interior design 10+ I had to wait very long for checking in because the lady at the desk was helpfull to another costumer. I feel new costumers don't feel welkom this way, too bad.. checking in is only 2 min. when you had an exhausting bustrip of 4 hours like myself all you want is get your key so you can relax ..she should have asked a moment off the other costumer of asked for support of a collega. also the bar-lady could have jumped in to help (se was not busy). The heating in the room didnt work well 304 I was very cold..godbless there were two beds so I took an extra set to keep me warm during the night. When I wanted to book at 14.10 the phone wasnt awnsered unfortunately? 2 -3 minus points make my revieuw an 8 The roomcleaners were very polite& friendly bij the way thats a plus! Yhank you for a lovely stay I looking out to a next visit if you have a nice offer for me ;)
The location was great for me. I was not impressed with the room. No phone, no clock, I had to drag furniture around in order to plug in the coffee maker.
Beautiful hotel, impeccably friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, excellent location, great value. My only complaint is that I booked a double room for two people and expected a double bed, not two singles pushed together. Neither I nor my partner were terribly pleased to keep falling down a hole in the middle of the bed every time one of us rolled over. But for that the score would have been 10/10.
Absolutely fabulous hotel. Stunningly great facilities! Extremely reasonable price. Beautiful view and in an amazing hotel. Best hotel stay in Edinburgh!
Great place to a great price
Very nicely decorated, central location, staff very pleasant. But in room 320 no view which was fine as was only there to sleep, but a very noisy room you can hear people very clearlybon their way home sounds like the window is open, but isn't, also you have a kettle to make tea and coffee but, you have to hold it while it's boiling cable too short and nothing sit it on. Not sure why we had two single Duvet's on a double bed?? I feel the room is a bit expensive because these problems
Nice hotel. Good location and clean. However, room was hot and there are no double duvets to go with the double bed.
The location is perfect since it is close to the railway station. The room is large and clean.
Basic clean room in great location. Breakfast overpriced. Bar prices average.
