‘Servus!’ – this, or something like it, is the typical Bavarian greeting you’ll hear when we welcome you to our design hotel in the popular district of Haidhausen in the east of Munich. At our Motel One Munich-East Side, conveniently located by Ostbahnhof station, you’ll find that it perfectly captures the essence of the neighbourhood: the interior design combines traditional and modern elements. For instance, in the lounge of our hotel in Munich, a cosmopolitan city with heart, the city’s time-honoured sights and landmarks are presented in the form of graffiti art – which should whet your appetite for a journey of discovery through the Bavarian capital. And speaking of appetite: after a restful night in our box-spring beds, you can kick off your morning with a healthy organic breakfast, which will leave you invigorated and ready to start exploring the city. After all, you’re just a short S-Bahn train ride away from Marienplatz with its famous town hall, Kaufingerstrasse, the central shopping hotspot, and Viktualienmarkt with its many tasty specialities – the perfect place to stop for a snack. Or you can set off by foot and stroll into the city down to the Isar river, past the cultural centre of Gasteig and the Deutsches Museum, before heading right into the city centre via Sendlinger Tor. After a long day of working or exploring the city, you can also stop by our comfy bar for a nightcap.
Our hotel in Munich is located in a particularly beautiful and historic part of the Bavarian metropolis: Haidhausen has been around for over 1,200 years, making it even older than Munich itself. Located on the eastern bank of the Isar, Haidhausen used to be a working-class quarter. Today, its countless cafés and little shops have made this district – which is also known as the French Quarter – one of the most sought-after residential areas in the city. East Munich has various attractions of its own to offer, which means there’s plenty to discover in the immediate vicinity of our affordable hotel. Pay a visit to the Maximilianeum, the seat of the Bavarian State Parliament, and the Angel of Peace, take a stroll along the banks of the Isar or wander round the newer ‘Werksviertel’ neighbourhood. The ‘Haidenauplatz’ bus and tram stop, located right on the doorstep of our hotel, connects you to the entire city of Munich. Located just 800 metres away from our hotel, Ostbahnhof station provides easy access to national rail services, as well as the S-Bahn and underground train networks, which will transport you to Marienplatz, the central station, the ‘Messe München’ exhibition centre or even Munich airport in a matter of minutes. But first of all – before you start thinking about leaving again – welcome to Munich and our Motel One Munich-East Side!
