First time staying at Motel One and we were really impressed . Staff couldn’t be anymore helpful . Everything we needed for an overnight .
Perfect location close to theatre and the city centre. Comfortable room, good bed, excellent shower. Breakfast had lots of choice and was delicious.
Really enjoyed our stay, lovely room and nice and clean hotel
The room was clean and the staff very kind. The hotel is ok. The room was very bare. It was big enough for at least a closet and a small fridge but there were neither. I was expecting at least a small closet. No cleaning on Saturday "for the planet" but there was some personnel cleaning other rooms so I am not so sure how everything was decided in this regard. If you are a member you get the incredible luxury of one complementary bottle of water per room per stay... Ok experience
Lovely staff, comfortable, spacious and clean rooms. Excellent price on the day we stayed. Really cool public spaces with a very relevant theme.
Ideal location to the city. Clean and comfortable service was. Excellent
Nice hotel very clean, beds are comfy enjoyed our stay. Just one point I would make if you book a room with a view is a complete waste of money I spent an extra £40 to see scaffolding no view atall that was disappointing
Great service
Good location and parking. Comfortable bed, clean. Think smallest size room was a bit small but that was our choice
Amazing hotel with excellent staff. Rooms on the small side but have everything and more than you could want. Very comfortable bed with great bathroom and super shower. Perfect location for exploring Manchester.
Perfect for our night and two days in Manchester, smart and stylish rooms, staff were perfect , 5 mins from Victoria station, 2 mins to shops, 8 mins to Northern quarter, 10 mins to Deansgate all on foot
The overall stay was good , but couple of issues : 1- TV - old , dose not connect to mobile , no youtube , and no code to link 2- breakfast - no english breakfast , hash brown or beans or grilled mushrams
Fantastic location, great value
A superb stay, everywhere was spotlessly clean and in good order, the staff are all attentive and pleasant, great location and good value for money.
I had a fantastic stay at Motel One Manchester – Royal Exchange. Everything about the experience was excellent, from the welcoming environment to the quality of service provided throughout my stay. The location is a real highlight, making it easy to get around and explore the city. The atmosphere of the hotel is calm, clean, and very comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The restaurant was fairly simple, but it offered a wide selection of options, so there was always something to suit my taste—you really can’t go wrong with the choices available. Very good bar as well that had all brands of drinks. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily return. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Manchester.
Really like Motel One, try and use them where ever I stay. Manchester Royal Exchange is typical of the quality that you’d expect. It is really well located for the shops and transport links. There is also parking available which is a bonus for me.
The room size was comical! We paid for a queen sized bedroom with a city view and the room was so so small!!! Bed was comfy tho tbf but wow we laughed at how small it was! Especially for £160 for one evening!
Bar is fantastic Lovely continental breakfast Reasonable prices at the bar and for breakfast Room and bathroom were clean and well equipped, tea and coffee provided
Room 501 which is no bigger than a box room. Booked for two people but room dressed for one. Had to order extra towels AND pillows. Questioned room size as next door was double in size for same price!
need cooked breakfast added to the menu
Value for money is a certainty! Clean, comfortable and staff so friendly.
Hotel is lovely, walking in not what expected with the prices being cheaper than many others.Rooms are a good just not enough space to get ready to put things away or hand up clothes. It’s self is lovely but could do with more places to get ready.Would definitely recommend for a short over night stay or short journey.
Great location, fab breakfast. Hotel very clean throughout. Would definitely recommend staying here
All good
Overall the stay was really enjoyable, good rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff and great breakfast Speed of checking in was an issue when we arrived, one person serving and a queue going out the door, but once two other ladies jumped on it didn’t take long to clear
Great price value, cosy bar and friendly reception. Definitely staying again.
Great people, great location, great value.
Our third time at this very central hotel. Clean modern superior room and decent breakfast. Very attentive and professional staff. Hotel cannot be in a better location. Just one very minor issue as we had extended (against payment) our check out time by an additional two hours and reception inadvertently forgot to update our key cards and to inform cleaning staff (who opened our door when we were still in the room). Would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting Manchester
The stay was brilliant and excellent value for money. These are just a couple of niggles for improvement. I had to ask for the free water for my room as part of being a member. Water cups in the bathroom were kept on a shelf above the toilet - this isn't very hygienic and I'd suggest they are moved to the sink. I didn't use them because they were kept there.
The hotel room was definitely good as well as the bathroom. We had some issue with the heating and the room resulted being a bit too cold. After the 1st night the room was not made up. All the rest was ok.
Staff were lovely. Rooms were basic but good. Clean and tidy. Central spot for the hotel - ideal to get to most places easily.
All good. Couldn't fault it
Third or fourth time I’ve stayed there. Always a great experience. Staff really kind and helpful.
I am a regular in Manchester Royal Exchange and Glasgow central Motel One hotels. I highly recommend both hotels. Manchester Royal is like my second home the past year or so. My work makes me be here in Manchester Royal Exchange hotel up to 4/5 days a week sometimes even longer. It's extremely clean, quiet and very central for all shops, restaurants and train stations. The staff are extremely lovely. They are mainly the reason I come back again and again. Especially Fatima (who I adore), Michael, Matthew, Mario and Elettra. The night staff Mo and Nile are great guys (quite funny guys), The manager Maguy The best coffee makers are Fatima and lovely Mario. Not saying other staff aren't. I just don't know the other staff as well. I can't say one negative thing about the hotel or any of the staff they currently have tbh. After this completely honest review I am expecting to be invited on Christmas night out this year otherwise my opinion will change. 😁
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast. Minor issue the limited space in the room
Good and efficient staff always
Mostly fine but the TV didn't work (kinda ok, not really a biggie) but the shower was cold which is a real basic thing. When reported on check out, we weren't offered a partial refund which I'd assume is just good business for customer satisfaction.
We enjoyed our stay here, the check in and out was very easy and the staff were ver friendly. The room was tidy but unfortunately we had no hot water in the shower, despite letting it run for a long time. Other than that it was an ok experience.
Fantastic room with a great view. Helpful pleasant staff and fantastic location
Had a really good stay, amazing location. Staff were helpful, very nice lounge area. Bed was super comfy. Room was on the smaller side but it wasn’t a problem, only thing there was no fridge which isn’t the end of the world.
check in wonderful, staff excellent! bar service also excellent and room cleanliness I'd say we're really very happy. If we're being critical, not being able to open the bedroom window at all was a big disappointment. The cups provided to drink coffee/tea from were awkward to drink from because of the rim/screw feature.. also no plug socket next to the drink station is not great nor convenient. Also embarrassing, but no bin bag in the bin in the bathroom? No sanitary provision in the bathrooms? We ended up bringing our rubbish home to save embarrassment and to save your housekeeping staff from having to deal with this. Why don't you put bags in your bins? Where's the recycling options?
Lovely hotel, happy, helpful staff, clean and comfortable bed
All round usual high level of experience. I wish you to see my replies for internal use only, please do not put on any external applications
Lovely large clean room friendly staff very quiet evening though in city centre. Only 1 criticism with getting into the car park. You have to stop on double yellow lines to get a fob from reception i could have got a parking ticket this is something that could be reevaluated. Thanks for the hospitality.
Great hotel, excellent location
We were impressed by the ambience and décor when we walked through the door., but even more impressed by the warm welcome we received from your receptionist who was efficient, friendly and professional. She made sure that we got the room we would need and was helpful when we asked about directions and places to eat etc. Great work!
I'm completely satisfied, which is why I always choose this Hotel when I visit Manchester. That is despite having to pay the extra charge at the weekend, which is unavoidable, owing to flight schedules back to Greece.
Great Location and very helpful friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
Really good, and everyone very nice.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was immaculate. The location is brilliant, especially if attending The Royal Exchange Theatre. The only drawback is that they do not have cooked breakfasts. There are plenty of places to get one though. Will not put me off staying there again.

Location and surroundings
Hotel Manchester Royal Exchange
Our Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange is designed with a trendy faux-industrial look in memory of Manchester’s golden era when it was known as “Cottonopolis”: all about cotton as a raw material and its processing. The foyer is dominated by six-metre high round steel arches and a wall of printed cloth, as a foretaste of our theme. Furniture by Baxter and hanging lamps by Alturo Alvarez are complemented by details such as spools of thread and spinning machines.
The main eye-catcher is a wall installation entitled "Cottonopolis" by paper artist Andy Singleton, composed entirely of shapes cast by innumerable single threads.
Our affordable hotel is situated right opposite the Royal Exchange Theatre in the very heart of Manchester. The Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Arena and the Manchester Central Convention Complex are within walking distance, and both Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly stations are within easy reach.
Visit us in Manchester and find out about the centre of the cotton trade.

Cool Cotton
Classic British furniture, paper sculptures and more will transport you to "Cottonopolis" - 19th century Manchester.

Cutting Edge
Paper artist Andy Singleton has proven a steady hand for Motel One Manchester-Royal.
