Hotel Innsbruck

The big city village

Welcome to the most urban village in Austria! Did you know that genuine Tyroleans affectionately refer to Innsbruck as an ‘overgrown village’? And rightly so, because the fifth-largest city in the ‘Alpine Republic’ combines big-city flair with rural idyll. Shall we prove it to you? In our Motel One Innsbruck, the big city village is at your doorstep.

Alpine chalet in the urban jungle – your hotel in Innsbruck

Good news! There’s no need to scale the Nordkette if you want to make yourself at home in an Alpine chalet. No, this Alpine chalet lies in the heart of the city. Your hotel brings the mountains to the valley, right next to the central train station. Snuggle up in a velvet armchair and warm yourself by the crackling fire. See for yourself: the flatscreen in the lobby is just as rustic and cosy as a real Tyrolean tiled stove.

All you need is a drink. Treat yourself to a refreshment from the bar, lean back in our rustic country-style sofas and enjoy the view of the Nordkette. And, since we can’t actually move mountains into our design hotel, we’ve simply recreated the beautiful forces of nature in trendy fine arts style on the glass façades of our lobby. One thing is for certain – you’ve never experienced the Tyrolean Alps like this.

In the mood for the real thing? You can experience the mountain range up close and personal right outside our affordable hotel. Like an attentive guardian, it surrounds the valley – from the New Town to the Old Town.

Speaking of the Old Town, Innsbruck’s narrow cobblestone alleys and decorative half-timber houses are also just a stone’s throw from the hotel. Take a leisurely stroll through the historical centre, pay a visit to the Baroque Cathedral of St. James and take a selfie in front of the Golden Roof, Innsbruck’s smallest and greatest treasure. Hungry? A serving of Tyrolean Speckknödel, or bacon dumplings, and “Kiachl”, a traditional doughnut, will fortify you for an eventful foray through the big city village. Because Innsbruck is not done with you yet – not by a long shot. You already know its lively urban side. But what about its calm and natural side?

At the feet of Tyrolean nature – your hotel in Innsbruck

How does it feel to fly? Now you can find out. At the Bergisel ski jump, you can reach for the sky. Even from a distance, the slender steel giant by architect Zaha Hadid sparks a thrill. After getting your adrenaline kick, bring your racing heartbeat back to normal with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake in the Bergisel Sky restaurant. The Innsbruck Nordkette cable car takes you even higher. The panoramic gondolas offer you a breathtaking 360-degree-view of the jewel of the Alps. And who knows? If you look close enough, you might even spot an ibex or a marmot during your journey. After all, what’s that they say? Tyrol is the home of the ibex and the marmot.
