Poor variety of dishes during breakfast. Hot meals would be OK as well.
Price: High, especially for room size (very cramped). Maintenance: Inadequate: Bathroom smelled constantly like a sewer; maintenance requested only cleaned externally; offensive odor continued throughout stay.

Hotel is clean, new, and comfortable. But the temperature outside during my stay was abnormally warm for the time of year and the hotel did not adjust the HVAC to accommodate. The heat was on and the air conditioning was off, which meant the temperature in my room was easily 25°C with the windows closed. This meant needing to sleep with the windows open in a room facing a busy street. I've stayed in countless hotels in large cities before, but never once have I needed to sleep with the windows open. It felt like trying to sleep at a bus terminal. Furthermore, the seating in the breakfast area is great for lounging but terrible for eating. There is no reason a person should need to eat from a coffee table while crouched over from a lounge chair.

Got the chance to stay in the same brand on different cities in Germany and the consistency in quality is amazing 🤩. From the people in the reception, in the lounge and at breakfast you find really friendly and welcoming people to help you. The location in all of them very convenient.

We had a family room, and I'd like to have a wardrobe or more shelves in the room to put clothes on. Otherwise, it was a great stay!

I like the Motel One Style pretty much. Especially the lounge is very nice: modern and cosy at the same time.
The location is good. About 15 mins walk to Freiburg Station. There are many restaurants, cafes and retail shops around the vicinity. Two microbrewery places for the beer lover. As for the hotel, the room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is decent. As a suggestion, it will be ideal if the hotel can provide the following items: - Proper working table (for business traveler) - Hot food options for breakfast - Fridge for drinks - Luggage Rack - Water dispenser along the corridor for hot or cold water (and best ice machine) On the whole, it is a value-for-money hotel and I will certainly come back again.

We always stay at Motel One when in Freiburg, which we always do in August and December. The rooms are attractive and efficient. The breakfast is excellent. The bar is wonderful and the staff is superb. In fact, we have enjoyed Freiburg's Motel One so much that for the past year, we've also added Motel One in Zurich as our hotel of choice when heading in and out of Zurich airport. We also have stayed at the Motel One in London this past year and have enjoyed all of them; they are like a home away from home. I strongly invite you to stay at Motel One and find out for yourselves! You'll thank us for the good advice.

I'm always impressed by Motel One, the consistency of the product is second to none and everything just works, this property is different is there's a real lack of parking, but that's just the space, the rooms just behind the bar area are a genius addition! Staff and service were great!
Our stay was very perfect as ever. We do wonder though why motel one doesn’t have a loyalty program. This was our sixt year in a row at Motel One in Freiburg (and previous and coming bookings in other locations). We would expect something like free parking, complimentary breakfast or some drinks at the bar. Other than that couldn’t be more happy with our stay.

Although the lobby with the bar was really satisfying, the hotel room was really tiny and the carpet smells dusty. I liked other motel ones and they were really great in and out of the rooms. This hotel in Freiburg seems old.

Poor resting experience: Initially we were given a room facing a smoke exhausting fan that made a lot of noise. Luckily there was an available room two floors up. The noise was there, but it was bearable. The second issue was with door banging, it lasted all night long. After an eight-hour drive one wants to have quality rest time. That is impossible in this hotel. The previous day we stayed at another Motel One which had silent locks and rubber frames in the doors: no noise at all.

Excellent and reasonably priced hotel in the middle of Freiburg. Tasteful room interior and atmospheric restaurant/bar area. Great service and helpful staff. The only negative point was really the cheap and much too soft matraze with bad backsupport (foam memory), unworthy of a queen size bed.
Everything was free of fuss apart from two things:- having to log in to get the breakfast voucher. Secondly, having the TV come ON automatically was particularly irritating. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to return.

Top atmosphere
This was my third (or 4th?) stay at One in Freiburg. Last day of my stay I had a bad experience which explains why I am only rating you with a 4. -I visited the bar twice and both times I had to wait a very long time to get served. No staff avaliable!! The second time, around 9.30pm I went to the reception twice to ask why. The second time the receptionist, a woman, was extremely unfriendly which was very disappointing. I visit Freiburg frequently as my son lives there but I do not believe I will choose One again after this bad experience. Regards, / S. Welinder

We have stayed at many Motel Ones around Germany, and they always feel like home to us. Also, the price is always the most attractive, and the breakfast buffet never disappoints. The day we arrived at Motel One Freiburg, we had several hours before check-in but needed to park our car (we had reserved a spot in advance). The desk clerk was extremely helpful, letting us know a spot would open in about an hour, and she provided us with the coded ticket for access. All staff members we spoke with or even passed in the hallways were very cordial. The elevators were always speedy the few times we used them (we mainly use the stairs). Excellent hotel chain!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The breakfast was delicious, and the view from my room was breathtaking. The staff were incredibly kind and made my experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

We have stayed at several Motel Ones before (Berlin Friedrich Str mand Leipzig), so chose Motel One in Freiburg. The location and parking were excellent, and the staff friendly and efficient. The breakfast was generous and good quality but the coffee was dreadful. The room was too small for comfort and smaller than our memory of the Berlin and Leipzig versions.
